Aftermarket Fuel Tank Sending Unit Compatibility

    Have to disagree on that one. The overall resistance in a parallel setup is always smaller than the smallest resistor. 1/Rtot = 1/R1 + 1/R2 = 0.436 --> Rtot = 1/0.436 = 22.9 Ohms. Or (75x33)/(75+33) = 22.9

Aftermarket Fuel Tank Sending Unit Compatibility

Nice experiment! Now it would be interesting to see if the gauge shows correct when the tank is empty, because with 75 ohm in parallel with your resistor only gives ~22.9 ohms with empty tank. If I understand correct you measured 33 ohms when the gauge was showing near 1/4. With 22.9 ohms (empty...

    Ford guys got us

Yepp, apparently our front ends is popular in the hot rod communities. I noticed this a couple of years ago when I rebuilt mine. Almost every search I did on the web came back with results from The H.A.M.B. the forum on jalopyjournal. Search Results for Query: volare | The H.A.M.B.

Error in Wiring Diagram M-Body Hazard switch?

I'll have to agree with you here 69-. The wiring diagrams looks the same to me. If I get the diagrams right, the feed from the brake light switch (18W) is disconnected with the hazard switch in "on" position. Maybe you are right, it could be that the diagram is incorrect. Not the first time if...

Misfire when light throttle and sparks fouling - Help needed

I see you have checked your carb, but is it possible you have an issue with fuel/air on one side of your intake? I mean with a dual plane intake, one side of the carb is feeding half your engine (1-4-6-7) and the other side is feeding the other half (8-3-5-2). A shot in the dark from me, but...

    Rear axels

There is a large group of enthusiasts in Norway and Sweden who takes great pride in taking care of older american cars. Earlier it was mostly cars from the fifties and sixties, but lately the malaise era cars has been included in the classic car communities. The last couple of years I've...

Wishing the FMJ Mopar folk a Happy Holidays

-18°C (0°F) and two feet of snow here. Even though it is very pretty and christmas-like outside I would rather trade it for a longer car season. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you.

Random non start condition. 86 dippy

On the '09 Tahoe I had you could get the car to recognize the tire pressure sensors by going through a routine described in the owners manual. It was something like press lock/unlock together. The turn lamp on one corner light up and then you release air pressure until the horn chirped. Are you...

    Cyclops - Chevy

Reminds me of my wife's Volvo. One morning the electric parking brake was stuck on. I disconnected the brake motors and put 12 volts on them to get the brakes off so she could use the car to work. After that the dash displayed a backup sensor fault, system disconnected. I found the backup...

    Cyclops - Chevy

Well, I've had a '97 Suburban, '03 Suburban and a '09 Tahoe and never experienced any problems with bulbs burning out. Could it be a vibration problem causing it? Either the socket being loose or the bulb rattling in the socket? Could also be a overvoltage issue, but that should cause other...

What is the best 360 manifold that fits under the hood with an air cleaner?

I got the Professional Products cross wind dual plane intake (#55026) on a 5.2 magnum. For the price I got no complaints, but this is a stock Mag in an Aspen used mostly with a light right foot on sunny days. My only regrets is that I didn't check the port matching and casting burrs i've seen...
