Anybody ever use a lunchbox locker in your 8.25 like the jeep guys do? Looks like its a cheap alternative to installing a suregrip carrier if you already have decent gears. Any input would be appreciated.

Those aren't really intended for on road use. I mean, they can be used but they have some disadvantages. When cornering there's generally a ratcheting sound and they tend to clunk when engaging/disengaging and you end up with the inside tire jumping, almost like a spool. They work great off road but on dry pavement aren't the best thing to have.
Only what I've been told by the way. A guy I work with has them in his Jeep Wrangler and says they work awesome when he's off roading but they suck on the road. I've heard it when he leaves work. Turning in the parking lot and there's a bunch of loud clacking/ratcheting noise and the tires kind of chirp and skip.
No personal experience with them other than that though (that's the disclaimer, lol)

They are clunky, a friend had one. They do tend to abuse the inside tire on turns and cause the rear to jump around during hard corners.

Yea that's pretty much my understanding also. Theres not much info out there except for the jeep guys. I would think if it wasn't in a daily driver it may be tolerable.
