fifth Ave. >>>Gran fury parts question

Hello all,

I am a newbie to M-bodies. I have been in Mopar A-bodies for years but now I have expanded into Dodge Diplomats and Gran Fury M-body cars.

Question I have is:

I have an 85 Gran Fury and I am always looking for spare parts.

Seems like they made more 5th ave. cars because I keep finding only 5th ave. for parts cars. Right now, I know where 3 parts cars located and they are all 5th ave., some really nice actually.

What parts can I harvest from a 5th ave. for the Gran fury ??

I know the header panel and grille look different

fenders the same??

doors??


Any interchange help is appreciated

fenders and doors same, I have a 81 diplomat with 84 fifth fenders and doors on it.

Most parts will fit.

The taillights and part between taillights, and rear bumper are different between 5th Ave and Gran Fury/Diplomat.

The fiberglass header panel is the same for all Dodge M-body’s and some Gran Fury’s.
Also the same for all 5th Ave's and some Gran Fury’s. Look at if marker lights are above or below the headlights – to tell which one is which.

Inside of the car, the 5th Ave has the back fiberglass shell, so 3rd brake lamp, some inside trim are different.
Also some differences on back doors. Doors can interchange if you do some part swapping.

I would say 95% of all M-bodies use the same parts – if you don’t consider the assorted police only parts.

still have all darts....I am pretty much a hoarder as they say and I hate to sell any old cars I might regret.

I daily drive a 68 dart as I have been for years now but its showing its age and time for a restoration, so when it comes down, I was hoping to replace it with the M-body Gran fury as a daily driver.

I don't own a new car (above 1985) and I drive all my old cars because that is what they were made to do.

I have been a Mopar owner and fan for years but I never knew these cars from 76 -89 all that well.

I am real familiar with the late 60s early 70s so I am really happy to be expanding my knowledge and love for all chrysler Corp vehicles.
