Yesterday afternoon. Police were initially called to Marathon Savings Bank in Rothschild (WI) for a "domestic dispute". It soon became an active shooter situation and shots were fired before the 1st squad arrived in less than 2 minutes. Then the guy went to a law firm in Schofield about 3 miles away and opened fire again. He ended up in Weston at the Aspen Street apartment complex where shots were also fired. Officers from every local dept responded to all 3 scenes, along with county and state, federal agents (I assume FBI?), DCI and SWAT. There was also support from Lincoln county (about 20 miles to the north). All the video I've seen gives me the willies. Looks more like something out of Iraq with the armored vehicles, officers in vests and helmets..........

He killed 2 women at the bank, the 67 year old bank manager and a 62 year old employee. At the law firm he killed another woman, a 43 year old attorney. During the stand off at the apartment complex, a 15 year veteran of the Everest Metro Police officer was shot and killed. The suspect, a 45 year old man was wounded and is now in the high security wing of one of the local hospitals.

This waste of human DNA killed 4 people for no reason. Sad.

Hard to say. Sometimes it is medical/chemical imbalance, sometimes it is drug induced. In other cases, people just go into very dark places and snap. I hope that I never get into that place, and it is hard for me try and put myself in their place. From what I am reading, sounds like the guy was in the process of getting a divorce; the domestic disturbance part was a confrontation with the ex-wife, the lawyer's office as probably her lawyer, and the bank employees either encouraged the ex-wife to get the divorce, or he blamed them for the divorce. Just speculation on my part of course, but would seem to fit with the facts presented.

People in relationships can get pretty crazy when the relationship starts going down hill.

I know how this sounds but, the guy that killed the 4 people died of his gun shot wounds last week, and saved the taxpayers a bunch of money for a trial and taking care of him during his what would have been multiple life sentences.

There was a fund setup by the bank across the street from the one where the 2 women were murdered, to help the families of all 4 victims. Total donations to date is over $180,000. Shows there's a whole lot more good people in the world than bad one.
