Does anyone have any pictures or information on the correct jack and how it and the spare tire is mounted in the trunk? I found a couple of pictures of the tire location, but nothing on the jack assembly or how that's mounted.

This is what I currently have minus the spare tire. Not sure why I have 2 wing nuts either. Car is an '89 Diplomat ex cop car. Thanks

Does it have a bumper jack or did they switch to a screw type scissors jack by 1989? An F-body stores the (bumper) jack and lug wrench under the taillights on the right side and the spare same place as yours, along with the jack base.

If that small hook and wing nut go with the car, look for a loop spot welded to the floor somewhere. I'd guess that's for securing the jack.

Never had an M-body so I'm only guessing on all that stuff. (disclaimer) :p

the tire goes in upside down and the jack goes inside the wheel, and wing nut holds it down, I'll try to get a picture on here soon. Why you have two wing nuts I don't know

Thanks, that would be great.

I don't have the jack, lug wrench, or anything else associated with it. I'm going to start looking for them but I have no idea what any of them look like to even begin looking. And I don't really know what that hook thing is for.

Just trying to cross some things off my to do list.

’76-79 F & M-body’s used Bumper jacks.
’80-89 FMJ-body’s use scissor jacks.

MoparDan’s configuration is correct.

I have only seen one bar and one wingnut – but on some cars (mostly front wheel drive) there might also be a wide flat black plastic nut that screws the tire cover down to the tire/jack mounting stud. If your tire cover has a 3-4" hole in it, then it also uses that black nut. If no carpet or no hole, then - your good.

Looks like the other parts are “spare parts”.

I currently have the spare out of my ’86 Fifth Ave, I can take a picture of the jack parts (for reference) – if I can remember when I get home.
