    Carlisle Show

Nice ride dude! So is the 'under the roof' admission by invite-only kind of a thing??? I've gone to shows where that's been the case...and this is the BIG-ONE...yeah?

    DRIVE SHAFTS....

I can't speak to the factory "how many would have had a balance weight" question, however you can get this one installed and do a quick check whether you've got a problem or not - and this won't require a test drive either. Put the rear axle on stands, tires off of the ground, put some...

FOR SALE 78 Volare Coupe Trim Pieces Free for Pickup

Do you have the '78 Parts Book already where you can xref the M-body to F-body trim? I do not want to assume the scans you posted mean you do...and if you do not, I have a 1980 & 1981 books, but nothing prior for our rides.

    360 Oil Filters ?

That's a good point...but for what it's worth, when I used to run one I ported the snot out of those passages. All hard corners were removed, smoothed the bends, etc....hey, made my head hurt a little less!

    360 Oil Filters ?

SHOW OFF!!! BUT BUT...I have seen both, and hell ya, that's a slick (no pun intended, you know, oil, slippery...drummmroooollllll please....) setup!!!

    360 Oil Filters ?

Well, you could clock it upwards, meaning the filter actually drops-down onto the adapter...I think some of the factory thinking went along those lines seeing as there is a U-shaped cutout in the framerail on my coupe (which I have always seen in all the M-bodies I have owned) that would allow...

Leaf Spring Shackle - regular vs HD and sway bar combo

Very nice insight on the torsion bar adjustment. I can certainly attest to the fact that the final-adjustment does in fact make a difference!

TOOLS - Air compressor oil...wow, that much of a difference?

Yikes! I hope/take it no one was hurt? What was the root cause? Old tank and corrosion, or something more sudden?

TOOLS - Air compressor oil...wow, that much of a difference?

Mike, That DeWalt oil was a Priness Auto purchase btw...easy!

TOOLS - Air compressor oil...wow, that much of a difference?

So a few years back I picked up a used IronHorse 60gal compressor (Model# 6160V1 by WOOD Industries). Had some teething problems to start off with, embarrassed to admit it, but the price was a steal (too good to be true as it turned out) and seeing as the compressor switch (another missed...

    Project Bulldog. (1988 Diplomat AHB)

Yeah, absolutely agree with this! Sure, you could patch it up with plastic stuff, but after a few years it'll come apart.

Leaf Spring Shackle - regular vs HD and sway bar combo

I was going to post this in a separate thread, but seeing as I had already started this one (on the same topic) I figured I would just tack this on. So I have been looking at the overall ride height (at the back) of my Coupe, and really getting that thing about 1" lower would be nice. That in...

    Rear leaf spring "tensioner"??

So the weird part to me - which is what I have been thinking all along in this thread - is that I have never actually seen a set of F/J/M-body leaf springs that actually extend the shackle back so far that is hits the dead-stop bar! That would just seem like the leaf spring is too long...

    Rear leaf spring "tensioner"??

For what it's worth, may I suggest it is all about this ROD in the picture...

    Newbie

Welcome to the forum! As you probably might have already realized, the T-top stuff in particular is probably best classified as made of "un-obtainium"...however, this here is probably the best place to connect with if you are looking for such a part!

Need Steering parts for 1983 Diplomat Police car

The police/fleet vehicles normally used the heavier (larger) versions of parts. For example: 1) Tie-Rods - 9/16" for standard - 11/16" for police/fleet (TRW: ES355L & ES352R rod ends, ES440S sleeve) You can still get the hard parts. 2) Sway Bars - 7/8" for standard - 1-1/8" for police/fleet...

    Vacuum Lines

LeanBurn was the Chrysler/Mopar updated ignition system that replaced the transistor based ECU units. Basically the LeanBurn (LB for short) is a plastic box typically attached to the side of the air filter housing (though not always AFAIK). It contained an electornic circuit board made up of...

LA 360 Driver side motor mount

So I always wondered, and perhaps I simply missed the obvious, but what exactly was the reason for Mopar using different mounts? I mean externally isn't the block casting (not the machining) basically the same thing everywher else?
