    Trunk lock

I had that happen to me on one of my cars. My key was worn down enough that it didn't want to turn. I got a new key made and that fixed it.

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

I removed the wiper motor and attempted to remove the nut. I had to put some leverage up on the crank arm to get the nut to unscrew. Being the original wiper assembly, I can only assume by looking at the shafts stripped threads, the factory nut was installed with an air gun. I was able to re...

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

I wanted to remove the motor to see why the nut will not unscrew off of the motor shaft. I have never replaced the wiper arm bushings, so it sounds like from others who have, it is easier to do it on a work bench. If the wiper motor should ever fail, I will be able to unscrew the nut off of the...

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

Thanks for all of the help. I am waiting for the bushings. I plan on removing the whole wiper system, and am curious as to why the nut won't unscrew off the motor.

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

The nut turns independently, but does not unscrew from the threaded shaft. If it is a speedy nut I think it was threaded on past the threads and now just turns without unscrewing. I have tried a small wedge to put some outward pressure on the crank arm thinking it would push against the nut and...

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

Do you know if I would be able to remove the wiper motor with the crank arm attached to it? The crank arm nut is turning but not unscrewing off. Thanks for everyone's help

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

I have just tried to put some pressure against the crank arm pushing it towards the nut. I can turn the nut but it won't come off. It doesn't look real easy to put a plastic bushing on to the crank arm when installed. Looks like the other option is to pop off the crank arm bushing and remove the...

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

Thanks for the reply. When I turn the nut, the crank arm does not move without me holding it. The nut just turns and does not thread off. I cycled the wipers and it all is working like it should. Would it hurt anything to try and wedge the crank arm against the nut and try and turn the nut off?

Wiper motor crank arm nut 1988 5th Ave.

Finally after 32 years the pass side wiper stopped wiping. The bushing failed and the arm connecting the pass side to the drivers side dropped down. The entire wiper system is original to the car. I watched a video and searched the forum and have a 1988 FSM. The nut on the crank arm turns in...

    Hard start

I know the Lean Burn does just that, it leans it out almost to the point of dying especially when cold. My original carb was rebuilt and it runs good. I did have a problem like yours when it wouldn't start after sitting for a few minutes after shutting it off. I disconnected the fuel line at the...

    Glass run channel liner/weatherseal

I did a road test when I finished the drivers side and no noticeable wind noise like I had before. Passenger side completed today. It took less time doing the passenger side, but working inside of the door was no better than the drivers side. Last test will be wind noise check on the passenger side.

    Glass run channel liner/weatherseal

Anyone know what product would fit well for the glass run channel seal on my 1988 Chrysler 5th? I am just going to replace the drivers side for now. I've seen different sizes and some universal ones. Thanks.
