Other choice is that instead of typical Mopar chassis lift, you could go to droop instead.

    Air Shocks

Well, If you're unable to find them anywhere in NZ (lived in North Island myself) then how'bout you just take the springs to a shop, have them redone to your height and buy a pair of suitable normal shocks? Salvage what ya'got?

Why my 5th Ave never gets any love

With 92% of California being in drought again according to ABC this morning, why don't you guys sell that rain here. "I'd buy that for a dollar"

    jeep gambler wheels

My wheels are 18x8 with zero ET and tire size is 235/55R18. I had to make a little room in all four corners to make them not rub. I can honestly say that this is the extent to what it comes to tire size with stock wheel wells in the back, they're close both on the inside and the outside on an...

Why my 5th Ave never gets any love

Many people forget about their projects and then the car either goes to the crusher or maybe somebody else saves it from that or just postpones the demise. You have not forgotten yours and have passion for it, that's a good thing.

    Just sayin' hello

Upgrade in wheel and tire size from previous 17x7 inch wheels. I fabricated the new ones from Ford Explorer Police Interceptor wheels which are 18x8". Tire size all around is 235/55R18

Consumer Reports 1989 Plymouth Gran Fury

BudW, once you go twins, there's no going back. After that the "single" people are just... simple. At one point I was contemplating of having a mid-size supercharger and a huge turbo. Compound turbos are better when they are sized right.

Consumer Reports 1989 Plymouth Gran Fury

Aspen500, I would have to disagree with you completely about Cummins diesel engines in a Dodge PU. That inline six is among the best engines ever built to me. Huge power potential, can be turbocharged up to 75-80 psi of boost without any internal modifications. Been there, done that, a twin...

J Body Hardest parts to find

I know a European company that produces huge variety of windshields. They do custom glass too. Should I ask them if and how much if nothing else works?

Meeting other people with the same passion

Today I met a gentleman named Peter in downtown San Jose with a gold 5th Avenue. He saw me and my wife driving by, waved, and we stopped and had a great conversation. Don't know whether he's a member here or not. This was the second M-body that I've seen in the Bay area.

    Personal view: Nicest shock setup

Just did the shocks on my M-body few days ago. I have been enjoying a balanced ride ever since. Stock everything else but the shocks, which are KYB Police Special in the front and Gabriel Ultra in the back. One of the most balanced rides in a traditional US V8 RWD live axle suspensions ever. I...

    Using 2" dropped spindles

The idea of this was to use lowered spindles but still the original ride height with the only real difference being higher preload setting in the torsion bars and therefore possibly firmer ride with original torsion bars. I know the thicker torsion bars is the best way to go. I was only...

    Using 2" dropped spindles

Anybody ever tried these on the M-body? I've been pondering about whether it would be beneficial to use these and tighten up the torsion bars to gain stock ride height. Bump steer would improve slightly but what I'm struggling to grasp is whether the front suspension bound and rebound action...

    Saturday Night Movies

I used to watch a police series when younger, in which a black detective/town sheriff was driving around in a blue Plymouth Gran Fury. This was a LONG time ago, late Eighties or early Nineties. What was the name of this show if anybody recognizes it from this? For the love of God, I cannot...

Anybody try the 18" metric Charger\Challenger wheels?

Just sayin' hello I changed the offset by 1 inch for the old school RWD look, center section inwards. So they look factory but are not in real life. Epilogue-edit: If the groove depth of the studs were any longer as OEM, I would not have done this, using 5x115 on 5x114.3mm. Original depth...

Anybody try the 18" metric Charger\Challenger wheels?

I understand the concerns you guys have. I seem to be the only pro vs con guy here. Well, I'm talking 30 years in the hot rod scene and mine being steel wheels, not aluminum, and extensive experience of Mopars of all ages starting from the 1930ies. I'm daily driving mine with the 5x115mm...

    Feeling Blue

Few things that everybody should remember: Never give up, never stop dreaming. if you really want it, you will get it. Don't expect anybody to give you anything, get up there and do it yourself. This is the phrase my mother said to me when I was 15 years old. Still following it, sometimes it...

    Hesitation when accelerating

When you are using the automatic (bi-metallic) choke please remember the correct starting sequence: Before cranking the engine, push the gas pedal to the floor once (not more) and don't touch the throttle when cranking. After it starts to idle high, help it out by giving few short and slight...

Good points, appreciated by me. Not here to argue, however I trust my choice based on the hub technology and materials these cars have.

I think my favorite movie of all time is "The Ugly Truth". Then again I've always been a big fan of Star Wars. James Cameron's Avatar is one of the greatest too.
