Just for fun, what is wrong with this engine?

This is just for fun. I already sorted this out. It took me way too long, I will be honest. WAAAAY TO LONG. Test and tune is in a few hours if it isn't raining. I am just doing this because hopefully a few of you get a kick out of this or learn from it. I hope, anyway. I DID already sorting this...

Sorry in advance. Parts quality rant

It is getting so bad. It took me 4 ignition modules before I had spark! I got an old cruddy one from the back of the garage and the Diplomat fired up first bump of the key! Other car, I had one of those "Mopar product" distributors I got from Summit about a year ago and it started to stumble...

    This is getting ridiculous

I don't even buy this crap, but it's happening with everything. I get it, they raise the prices if they keep the size the same. I can't wait to see what happens this winter, or when they finally get the nuclear war they want so damned bad

Finally got something done. Painted my 78

Had to take this one down to metal, I usually do all of them this way. The vinyl top hid some hideous factory bondo and that awesome fiberglass roof/window plug. I leaded the sail seams and ground down all of the little molding studs and welded the holes. I will reinstall all of the moldings...

1978 Aspen Police car dual exhaust

This is a long shot, but my 1978 Aspen Police car HAD dual exhaust a long time ago, and as you might expect I had to replace it when it got crappy and I just used what I could get...nobody had the dual exhaust parts then and I didn't have the time to make it. I was driving the car daily back...

Intake manifold water fitting who sells them?

Finishing an engine, and the closer to the top, the little stuff is what I find I don't have. Like the fittings that go into the intake for the bypass and heater hoses. Who sells these? Last time I did one these were readily available. I don't want to go beg Tony for NOS stuff, this is just a...

FOR SALE Brand new accounts "selling parts"

Just keep an eye out for brand new accounts selling parts or parting out cars. This is happening a lot on other sites. These new accounts seem to have just what you need, love money orders or "Pay Pal friends and family transfers" etc. Protect yourself. There's one or two I have my eye on

My Spare AMC Rally wheels. Discard them or use them?

These are from my vast AMC horde. Normally, they would go to the Hyundai foundry but these are getting very hard to find so I sandblasted them and acid dipped them. They do fit Chrysler but are 14 inch, so they were never very popular wheels. They are going on one of my Aspens. I was looking for...

25 Grand. Maybe get rid of the government cheese wheels. 25K is Not much money in todays economy. Anybody know more about this car? "This car was built back in the early 80's by gentleman named Bob Klopp which was the original owner of this Diplomat. Was in Mopar Action Magazine in Feb 1991...

Hyundai Santa Fe. - Is this Normal?

Had to go out West for a week and they gave me a choice of rentals, Hyundai or Buick something. He said Hyundai would be better on gas which I knew would be false but I wanted to experience the Korean stuff. The trunk was not bad at all. This was Vegas, but I had to go way out in the desert, so...

    Clips and Fasteners

Not really a horror story, or an "I can't find it anywhere" story, not this time. On the 1st of January I went out in the shop to put the dash back together in an old Volvo I have had for years. I got close to the finish line and one of the little 7mm screw anchor clips broke. I put everything...

    413 in a 88 Gran Fury

It's in and it runs, but last time I did this swap I didn't write very much down, other than a few part numbers and prices. What little I kept track of is on my wife's old laptop. It overheats if it idles a long time and needs a radiator. I think I used a pickup radiator but I really don't...

Down to bare metal -- Surface rust

People have been mentioning bare metal and how to address it. Of course, there are going to be 2,342,782 different "right ways" to do it. I have a way that has worked for me for years. My 78 has the original paint, but rain dripped onto it and got through the paint. This paint may look good...
