I have two cool cars the 79 RR is very solid and is now a two owner car. The first owner ended up putting a 440 into it. I have now almost put 3k on it in two months and really like it. However it needs a better rear end a 273 open 7 1/4 just does not cut it.

The 1980 RT aspen has a factory 360 e58 that has been modified but has a rusty frame but has a full black bucket interior and a non factory 8 3/4 rear diff . I have the needed frame members but I want to put the rear diff in the rr (my wife and I are loving using this rod) still unsure of the future of the RT but thinking about parting it

So, the E58 360 could be had in 80 Road Runners and Aspen R/T. I've seen so much b.s. that the 360 wasn't an option in 80. I've always kept the 8 1/4 in my 360 cars. Slicks and 4.10 gears and never had a problem. I think the 8 1/4 might be stronger than the small pinion 8 3/4. Your 80 Aspen v.i.n. indicates 360 hugh. Interesting. The car would also have that wild dual exhaust system with one tailpipe eeh. If this is all true, that R/T is SO rare I hope you can restore it

Ya don't know but Bill there has the 80 360 Aspen R/T and I see 80 e58 360 Aspen/Volare's in stock eliminator which it had to be able to order the e58 to run it in stock elim. They sure made e58 Newports and St Regis hi way bull cars

Yes, your correct kk. It was all about gas mileage regs, although a person can get the same performance out of an e58 Aspen/Volare as a 383 R. Runner with a little tweaking
