My thoughts:
The 8¾” is stronger than the 8¼” rear is. It also has a lot more aftermarket support than smaller rear has.

The ’65-70 B-body 8¾” is an almost direct bolt in. The same year Dana-60 will also fit but might by (?) be overkill.

For what you have invested in the engine, I would lean away from the 8¼”. Nothing wrong with it, but with that much power and gear availability – I think you will end up happier with the 8¾”.

If you are only going to drag the car, one might consider green bearings (similar to what is is stock on 8¼” / 9¼” rears), for a couple ounces less bearing drag loss. If this is not an exclusive drag-race only car, I highly not going to green bearings – but this might not be best place to debate this, sense not point of original question.
