Nice! Looks like you moved your bumpers in, did you make new mounts to get rid of some weight? That is the plan I have too.

Thanks for the compliments.

I did move the bumper in. I made brackets to fit. The total weight I lost be gutting front bumper was 30 lbs.

So far off the trailer, it's ran 10.8 @ 126 mph. 1.55 60'. It should run 10.60's once I sort out the caltracs and do so carb tuning.

I really have to work on my 60" this year. It should be high 1.40's with the power/torque I have.

Its making decent power running 126 mph at 3800 lbs but ET is abit behind.

Do you think more stall might help? Just curious.

Sounds wicked, man. Love it.

Man o man. That is one solid Aspen! Get some video of it running down the strip. I'm curious about the stall impact too? My guess was less, but I always make the wrong choice first. I wished my tach was that steady. My tach jumps and scatters at 750 to 1100. That was a nice even 1000. If your idle was lower would it help at launch? I often wondered that impact - if any?

He's launching against the converter. The only time he might let it idle is backing up after the burnout.

Not to hijack, but slant6billy: does your tach jump around, or does your idle? If it's your idle, it sounds like you're running your vacuum advance on constant manifold vacuum. You'll never get it to stop doing that until you run it through a ported source.

I would assume that 79410aspenrt isn't using vacuum advance since it's a pretty stout race car. At WOT vacuum advance doesn't do anything.

I changed convertors after 3 passes on this 440'' motor. made 3 more with new convertor. changed from 4600 TCS to 5200 Ultimate Convertor.

TCS convertor vs Ultimate Convertor Concepts
60' 1.68 60' 1.55
ET 11.01 ET 10.85
MPH 123.5 MPH 126

with the Ultimate convertor, it hits a lot harder as 60' improved so much. I have the caltracs set for the old TCS. once I get some time and adjust the caltracs, I think there will be a gain in 60' and ET.

no vacuum advance for me.

I was wondering where you were on the converter. That thing must sound glorious off the line... and yes, once you've made your adjustments for the new converter I'm sure there's more (less) to be had on the 60'.
