Faster (just barely) than a speeding....

Nowhere near as powerful as a locomotive. But the seller of this Aspen claims it has only 6k miles.

1976 Dodge Aspen

From seller:
I work with an gentleman that is going to put snow tires on his '76 Aspen with 6,052 miles on it, that he has stored in his garage forever, and start driving it back and forth to work, road salt and all. I think it is a sin and told him that there is someone out there that would probably love to have it and asked him why he doesn't sell it. He doesn't want to be bothered looking for the right person and showing the vehicle to tire kickers. I asked him if I could try finding him a buyer and he said ok. Here's what I know:
1976 Dodge Aspen
6,052 miles
2 Door
Slant Six
Green
Original Ziebart Undercoating
There is a chip in a clear lens on the bumper (see pic), and the spare tire has no rim.
Currently stored in his garage since the 70's
He knows what its worth and is willing to sell it if the transaction is quick and easy. Then he will put the money toward a normal everyday commuter. It is still safely stored in his garage. He is offering this as a collector car for a short time before he puts her on the road as a daily driver.

Huh. Not the best sales pitch IMO. "Buy this car or I'll trash it!" Beautiful Aspen, (don't like the color) but the sales pitch is a real turn off. Hope somebody gets it who appreciates it.

Those are period correct Ziebart yellow plugs, and the rest of the car looks very minty. He is asking more for it now than what it sold for new. I believe the mileage looking at the car. The question is why did he store it so long, and why does he want to drive it now? The car is 40 years old, and I am guessing he did not buy it when he was 20. So he has to be up there in age. The car just can not sell for that type of money as a fair deal. It truly is a base, no option car. No A/C, AM radio, no cruise, no rear defog.

The other thing you get into with this deal is it will need every fluid changed. The fuel tank is probably filled with muck, and once the new buyer would start to drive it every seal, belt, and hose would disintegrate. You will have to put $2,000 into it to drive it.

Nice car. Just over priced for what it is. It would make a decent buy at $4,500.

Its hard for me not to throw out a close offer to the guy however my purpose might not be that popular BUT I could finish off there nice optioned F projects with the metal, glass, trim, ect. thats on that car. If only it were a V8K. With the cost of seat and material work, imo there is a nice load of parts there.

Maybe 12 years ago I bought that cars twin but it had v8 and ac and roughly 5500 miles but the butt corners were rusted from how it was stored but the interior was white bucket and perfect and paid 4k which was ALOT at the time.

I dont think hes too far off on the asking price considering that maroon /6 low mile aspen thats has been for sale on and off from like 6-9k and I dont think its optioned much better.
