The seat belt retractors in the headliner on my 77 make a loose jingling noise went hitting bumps, etc. Anyone had that issue and try to fix theirs? I haven`t checked them out yet to see if I can find the issue. It gets annoying at times.

Is that the fiberglass form-fitting upholstered headliner ?

I'm not familiar with that headliner. When we had ours apart, everything was originally assembled with nylon washers.

It's probably the locking plate jingling on the teeth of the webbing drum. Mine make that noise also sometimes, even the brand new NOS one on the drivers side. This is a pic of the old one.

Nope. It's the way they were designed and anything that would keep them from jingling would compromise the function.
Seat belts (like insurance),,,,,,,something you hope you never need but if the unthinkable happens, you're glad you had them (or it).
