Anyone running cragers or torque thrusts on their M body? Sizes to clear rear wheel wells?
I'm thinking of running some 15x8s in the rear of my 79 2dr lebaron. Anyone run 17s?

pretty much anything small 5 bolt/4.5 on 5 from ford, jeep,or mopar will fit the m body cars.
theres a ton of rims out there, basically you want to keep an eye on your Backspacing,
its around 3.5-4 inch backspacing needed.
i like your idea of the 17s tho, they really fill the wheelwells.

heres what mickey thompson street slicks /275/60/15-s look like on a 8` wide keystone rim.

Not really sure of the specs but Ik they are 14s up front n 15s out back I will look at tire size in the morning Ik they rub a hair on sharp turns up front and the rear will rub if I hit the bump stops out back but man they look killer.

I'm running 18" Torque Thrusts with 285 and 245 in front. You'll need the stiffer Firm Feel torsion bars up front though. Thinking of going back down to 16" or 17" now as I've bent two rims since I put these tires on six years ago. Need more sidewall.

Love the picts and thanks for the input. I'm thinking about it.
BeatersRus - Do the 275s rub when you hit bumps? like the look.
Duke5A - I imagine the the cragers with 255 / 235s didn't rub at all?
Do you have a d60 in that thing? Can you post a pict or two? details?

Yeah, no rubbing issues with with the 255 in back and 235 in front. The 285/255 combo with the Nitto tires does give slight issue on both front and back.

The D60 is out of an early 80's F250, right before they switched out over to Sterling axles. Was a full floater, so had to convert it semi-float with new housing ends. Opted to use Ford ends so I could run the Explorer rear disc kits. Bought all the parts from Dr Diff and ended up reusing the factory ring gear since it looked good and was the ratio I wanted - 3.54.

Had a local shop cut it down to size and assemble with Dr Diff's parts. Had it cut down to 1966 B body axle dimensions. Welded new perches on to match M body specs.

TIRE - Yokohama Avid S/T, 235/60R15 98T (front tire)

2) REAR
WHEEL - 175804545, Auto Drag III, Aluminum, Polished, 15 in. x 8 in., 5 x 4.5 in. Bolt Circle, 4 in. Backspace
TIRE - Nitto NT 555R, 275/60R15 107V (rear, drag racing compound)

Here is why my couple looks like with the following rims:

Duke, how much did you have to do to the driveshaft to mate that up after the diff was done? Was it just a 2 size U-joint or was there surgery?

I replaced the driveshaft at the same time I did the axle. The old shaft used 7260 u-joints and was quite a bit smaller in overall diameter. Had the new one made up in a larger diameter using 7290 u-joints. All that was needed to adapt the axle to Mopar joints was to replace the yoke; which is just a bolt on.
