Not for nothing, but I ran across a neat find. My tow rig (95 shorty ram Van) is needing some suspension parts. My friend's towing recovery business has a 2000 Ram Van with a 127 inch wheelbase that was hit hard on the passenger side high. This was a running V8 magnum 5.2 or 5.9 with an OD 518 tranny. I got under the van to spot a 3inch aluminum driveshaft. Also, noticed it did not have the U joint at the rear, but a bolt faced flange. I heard the R/T dakotas had a 3 inch aluminum shaft? But the Van? Anyone have some insight here and insight to cutting down an aluminum shaft like the steel shaft? I did not suggest to my friend of any interest on the Van other that the parts I need in the present time. I wish I had the cash to grab the motor, trans and harness. As well the aluminum shaft.
