If you leave the stock cam the motor is all done by 4500 rpm.

Which is not necessarily a baaaad thing, if the car is geared for that.
For instance with 4.10s you can go thru the power peak twice on the way to 60 mph, and post a pretty good average power for the run.
Then an A500 with it's .69overdrive,would turn that 4.10 into a 2.85, making 65=2280rpm, purdy sweet!
In the past I have owned and driven a stock smogger-teen every winter for 5 years with just headers,a 4bbl, and sometimes 4.30s; and it was a pretty sweet combo. I imagine a Magnum would only be sweeter.
