Top one is 79 and bottom is 76. Note the triangular flange with the slotted holes. 79 is 90 degree rotated compared to the 76. So I'm headed to Gator's to "borrow" a 79 driverside

This 79 will work. The 76 RR way in the back, not so on a 79

Went through this on mine recently as well when my 77 got backed into and I found a 79 donor.

I was really surprised when the bumpers were also different. Pleasantly surprised though that the 79 bumper assembly is a LOT lighter than the 77.

Thanks for posting this. The flange difference and the lighter weight was news to me.

Update to the thread, the compression bumper mounts should be able to rotate that flange, unless rusted like those above. So 76 an77 should work on 78 & 79

Yes, that is true. My Volare is in restore and has the bumpers removed, but brackets still attached. Two of the brackets have rotated slightly, maybe 20 - 25 degrees, just from being lightly bumped in the shop. I just put a pipe wrench on them and they rotate without much effort. Mine are not rusty. Maybe some WD-40 on your brackets could get them moving again.
