This is something Captain Caravelle started a few years ago and I’m going to start back up.

Categories: Survivor/stock, restored/lightly modified and modified (which means it is clearly obvious the car wasn’t built that way).
F-body 2 door and 4 door, M-body 2 door and 4 door, J-body and wagons (I think wagons deserve to be separate).
I will draw the car type/category at random.
Note: I’m looking for this to be fun and an attempt not to exclude anyone.

Two weeks for entrees to be submitted. Note: pictures are encouraged. Back stories are also helpful (not everyone has been on this board for a long time).
A new post will be created for voting, which will last for one week.
Moderators decision is final - but hopefully it won't come to that.

Everyone is allowed one vote, so how you vote (or not vote) is up to you. Personally, I prefer not to vote on my own vehicle – but that is just me.

I do ask that previous Car of The Month winners (vehicles, not owners) not resubmit their previously winning cars again.
At this point, the Car Of The Month winners are:
March 2016 – F-body Modified – Aspen500’s 1979 Aspen
April 2016 – M-body Stock – Dr. Lebaron’s 1978 Lebaron
May 2016 – J-body Stock/Slightly Modified – Jasperjacko’s Modoba
June 2016 – F-body Survivors – BudW’s 1977 Volare Wagon
July 2016 – M-body More Doors – Justwondering’s 1987 Fifth Ave
August 2016 – J-body Modified – Joe12459’s 1983 Mirada

Comments are welcome and the rules are not written in stone.

Matter of fact, I’m going to start with January 2020 Car Of The Month with a category not mentioned above: Any '76-84 FMJ vehicle with a /6 engine. A submission thread will be started shortly.

Darn, not eligible.

Off topic a tad. Anyone know what ever happened to the Captain? He just vanished all of a sudden a couple years ago. Curious is all. If it's none of my business, that's fine too:cool:

He recommended me for the position of Moderator then “poof”.
Now that I look at it, I wonder if it wasn’t planned that way.

To answer the question – have no idea. I hope all is well.

We never heard anything concrete, but we did hear he was well, and off in a different direction. We were not sure of what that really meant.

Maybe im showing my age, but I remember the boards before Cap'n

While they were lively, he showed up and kicked things into high gear. We had an issue once on Dippy shortly after the Allpar takeover, but beyond that I never had any problems.

I like the COTM, it really helps showcase builds/ cars that may not be seen otherwise.

Yeah. I got to reach out to the Captain and just say "hi" He could be funny, entertaining and not bully. Life gets ever so challenging and changing.
