When was your 77 built? IF it was built before 4/1/77 I have no clue for the sending unit. If your car has a round tire well it is an early 77, if you have a flat trunk floor and the tire sits up top, you have a late 77.
I am not sure anyone has a sending unit for the late (4/1/77 to 4/2/79) cars either. They have the sending units for the 4/2/79 and later F,M,J's but I believe the tank opening is bigger where the sending unit fits. I have a car built in late 77. If i need a new unit, I will buy a new tank and new sending unit. The tank at rock auto is about $80 and the sending unit is about $60. If yours is a late build that is probably the way to go. The other difference is the newer tank has a rollover valve at the top of the tank, so you might have to dimple the trunk floor for the valve to fit.

If Marty doesn't have it, the only place you might find it is on e-bay otherwise do the tank change.
