Header question

New power for an old friend. Will be dropping in the new engine soon and would like to install the headers before putting it in. Has anyone done this or am I better off dropping the engine in then putting the headers on? I've done some measuring and it looks close.

It won't go in all assembled . I think the drag link on the steering goes through that driver side header. If you dropped the entire k-member and installed it all from under the car, that might work. i would just install the headers as you're lowering the engine in. Wrap the headers if you don't want them scratched.

you can also put the headers in first, and tie them out of the way. that seems to work pretty well.
