Your out of luck on the AL. unless I can think if I saved them or tossed them, ive a extra set of steel but have plans for this set of Al. ones I could find.

Huh. I didn't realize there were different ones. I'll have to look out of curiosity to see which ones OY has. I didn't think to take any as spares from the parts cars. Did they change over at a certain point in time, or on certain cars, or was it completely random? o_O

Its pretty much a year thing, early Fs steel, later fmj-s Al.

Probably a bean counter thing.

Ah. Maybe weight too perhaps, although I can't imagine that the difference would be worth it. I do know that they reduced the weight of the windshields and bumpers, I think it was in '78.

The steel ones are painted black. The aluminum ones are “bare”.
I believe all FMJ’s will interchange as well as Left to Right.
