This year, a fella named Austin Griggs put together the first annual, Mopar Vs Brand X Street Car Show Down. The event took place in Moulton, Alabama at Jakes Drag strip and had quite the turnout. Full day of events, a 40+ mile cruise around the forest, mobile chassis dyno and of course, the races themselves.
The event is open to all cars 1999 and older, rear wheel drive Street cars. Three different race classes but the main being, Gladiator Street cars: Pump gas, 295 or smaller treaded drag radials, valid registration and insurance, must make the 40 mile cruise day of race, factory rear suspension, factory frame, mufflers, battery, charging system and lights all working, period correct drivetrains (LA, Magnum B, RB, Gen 1&2 Hemi swaps OK) No race blocks, No power adders, No Transbrake, No Dominator Carbs or equivalent throttle body.
With the successful turn out this year, next years event is already under plan and there’s thoughts of adding a Mopar 318 Fest to round out a full week of racing. A lot of nice cars made it out Including a 408hp, 1966 GTX that took 3rd overall; couple Pontiacs took 1st and 2nd this year.
I’m going to be making the drive out next October and hopefully some of you may too.

That's me in the Volare in the picture above the trophy! It's a very cool event and I plan on attend next year too. The day started out rainy but the cruise was great and they were drying the track as we were getting back. Most of the mopars there were big blocks, I believe I had the fastest small block mopar with my 360 (and I loaded up five people and drove us all to burger king for lunch, too. Four doors ftw :D). I hot-lapped all afternoon trying to dial in my a/f using a wideband I had just put in, ended up with an 8.44 as my fastest et. Took it to the next local test'n tune the Thursday after and broke a ringland on my second pass... I'm guessing the longer track back home was just more punishing on things

Here's some video of the event, my Volare is mixed in there.

Every post I’ve seen has been nothing but good things about the day. I hope to make this my first event with my 5th ave. Have a rebuilt 8.25 posi rear end with 3.21 gears in the garage waiting to go in and, hopefully I can get my hands on a 360 to swap by then. Either way, just seems like a great time.

From what I saw of the video, wish I could be there. Part way through, it stopped and said "Video Unavailable" for some unknown reason though. Didn't get to see charlesvolare's Volare:(

I was going to say we had a member going down there at least to cover it for Bangshift, but his photo credits give it away.

I guess the imperial didnt make it, but I heard it was a good show

There was a Ford or two I would like to have there, the white Cougar Eliminator and the white 70 Mach 1. Little gold Nova sedan was cool too. Our local track does street cars on Friday night but it's more late model runner type cars with a few old muscle cars thrown in. It's pretty cool to see a ten second car run through the mufflers so you can here it bark the DOT slicks. If I run either of my cars again it would probably be in this class.

Those old Tin Indians are pretty cool in my opinion. Some cousins and friends of mine had tri-power Bonnevilles and Grand Prixs back in the 60's and 70's. My sister had a '65 Goat, 389, tri-power 4 speed back in 66-67. I would love to have one of those also!
