Oil - synthetic blend versus straight mineral oil in our oldies but goodies

I think that rpm can go above 2000 rpm when accelerating in town as the transmission is in low gear, and you are getting on it, as well as when kick down happens when passing on the highway. I don't see either lasting very long, but you can't use steady, highway cruising speeds to determine which oil to use. City driving, or around town driving, is far harder on oil (and the entire car in general) than cruising at 75 mph in top gear.

True. Here's my take on oils. My older cars without roller setup get high zinc oil. I figure doesn't cost me that much more, I don't put many miles on them and therefore don't do a lot of oil changes, so why not error on the side of caution. Newer stuff gets synthetic. Seems to be a consensus that it does last longer, and the price of synthetic is not much more than conventional anymore, so again, error on side of caution.
