I was going to reglue the headliner, but it was a hot mess of this grey, sticky, powdery, foam-like, stuff.

I started vacuuming it up so the adhesive will have something to stick to, but I can't seem to get the overhead thing down. I found 2 of the screws, and what feels like a divet for another under the lining right next to the windshield, not sure if there's another screw under there or not without putting a hole in it.

was just going to pull it down, spray and restick it all, turning into an entire job..

it's reall impressive the build quality on the interiors of these cars, especially compared to other manufacturers of the same era

you might need to take the front seats out so you can lower it to the floor on the front end and gently bend it to get it out.

most fabric stores sell headliner material with the foam backing. Just vacuum off the old foam and redo it. you'll be very glad you did and the roof won't be hot on your head!

the center console computer kept it off my head in the front, I was tired of watching it flap around in the back. it turned out ok, other than I thought the piece around the back window would cover more of the roof than it does, so there's a about an inch gap there.. oh well still much better than it was.

I was thinking about doing it in faux black bear skin tbh :icon_rambo: that stuff's pretty heavy, would probably have to hot glue gun it.. kind of pricey too, so may stay a pipe dream.

Nice work.....I want to see the finished pics.

got a few "bubbles" already

IMG_20140701_143732_716[1].jpg

can smooth them over by hand, but probably won't last too long.

I might not have sprayed the adhesive heavily enough

IMG_20140701_143802_681[1].jpg

It was kind of a pain to work with once it got tacky on my fingers, then the fabric wanted to stick to them unless I sprayed lightly.

still, nice to see some form to the roof for once! much improved (for now)

I'd have done a gooder job if I'd known how much of a mess it was. I only planned on taking an hour if that, turned into a day and a half. next time I'll know better.

this is the part where it didn't stretch, might put some hello kitty duck tape across it. or maybe some pink camo.. :icon_thumright:
