I re-read my posts and I think I left an important detail out.
I don’t see any problem running a high volume oil pump.
It is not my preference – but I see absolutely problem on using one. Any excess oil will go right back into the oil pickup tube/pipe – so as long as there is no major restrictions anywhere – you are fine with a High Volume pump, well also assuming frame clearance is not a problem.
I’ve heard of problems with excessive crankshaft bearing from having too much oil pressure – but nothing I've experienced first hand.
Aspen500 – I like that “style” pan gasket and have had good luck with them.
If you have a stroker engine – then there is a high chance the windage tray will hit the crankshaft
