Steering column modification

I can't think of a reason why not, but does anyone know for sure if I can take an F body non-tilt, floor shift column, & graft the tilt portions from a Y body column shift to make a Y body tilt, floor shift column for my Imperial? Thank you, Larry

On a Pontiac I had a long time ago I just cut the shift nub off and filled the hole with fiberglass cloth and finished it with body work. I wasn't smart enough then to figure out to get a sheet metal pipe { exhaust} and just slide iy over the old one. It is a lot less work. Sorry but I am not sure about your question though
