I was going to finish up the roof on the fifth avenue a couple of days ago and a small tree limb had fallen and grazed/punctured a tiny hole and a scratch in my brand new vinyl roof... dang it!

I envy you guys with garages.

So as the rain started today, it became obvious I would not be finishing the roof today.

What to do?

Vinyl Roof Touch Up...

Bought this:

which contained colors, grain texture, adhesive and a mix stick

Put some holes and then pushed them flat and filled with adhesive:

Added some scratches at the bottom:

Purchased a dull silver and a metallic silver paint pen from hobby lobby:

Patiently waited 20 minutes for the adhesive to dry.

Tried covering a scratch with the dull silver pen at the top, metallic pen under it and just to the right a scratch was covered with a combination of dull-metallic-dull dabbed over each other while wet and smeared with my finger, and the bottom scratch had nothing done to it:

On the three punctures, I also did something similar:
top is dull silver,
middle is metallic silver,
bottom is both dabbed on and smeared...

And here is everything

Takeaway? I think the smearing was critical. I'm going to try the metallic paint pens on the tail lights. I'm not sure the paint will last very long, but at least it looks good when I have my sunglasses on ..... as great minds have reminded me.

That really sucks to have a new top and have it damaged right away. Your repair looks good. Let us know how the paint pen works on your tail lights

Eastwood sells a better kit that comes with a heater, some texture patches and some of the same colors to to match the color.

Thanks bremereric for the advice.

I have to return the loaner tools I used to replace the water pump in the diesel and can see if there is an Eastwood kit there.
