HELP !

My windshieldwhiper linkage droped off.

By trying to fix it, the opposite side popped out too.

I made one bushing new, but now I an unable to pop the linkage in again.

(both sides, motor and whiper)

Is there a special trick, to get them together again ?

( I pray for sunshine . . . :angel11: )

Over here a company called Dorman makes new plastic bushings for the wiper linkage...if that's what you have put them in the hole side first...then a little lube in the hole of the plastic bushing...use a pair of channel locks to press the ball joint piece into the plastic bushing...if you can't get them over there PM me and we can arrange something..

Thank´s for Your help.
But my problem is to get the linkage back into the car.

Will it be useful to pull off the whole wipers ?

The easiest way I found is to pull both the wiper arms out, squeeze them together with a vice and reinstall all in one piece. Then use channel lock pliers to reinstall on the motor. Not an easy task but doable. Hope this helps.

Yep take the two wiper arms off....take off the nuts that hold them on....take off the nut on the back of the wiper motor and remove the linkgage as one piece...press everything back together and install it back as one piece...you will have a left and right arm and a linkage to the wiper motor

If I should make the bushings new, how to get them for a good price ?
Any idea, who is shipping to germany too ?

And should I try to get NOS bushings or reproduction parts ?

Thank You for Your help ! ! !

I would replace all of them. They were probably on there for 30 something years, I only want to pull them out once. I only had the one fail and it was the easy one to replace and I replaced it, but I can tell the others are worn. When I work on my cowl to fix the rust they are all coming out and being replaced. I only want to do them once.

I cant really answer your shipping questions, but the Dorman Pt # is:118-301.
Dorman << yeah its a link. That part no. is good for most ALL mopars as you will see in the listing. Here in the states there is a thing called a Help! line of products that also has a package of them for various cars. Here is a link to the Help! product, but beware, you will need 2 packages of them, as only 2 bushings for your application are included...: Help! This is a link leading to Autozone, dont cuss me about AZ, they are good for somethings, as long as you are smarter than a 5th grader!! :sign10: The bushings you need are the 2 on the bottom of the picture. The Help! line of products are carried @ most of the auto parts store here. NOS parts? I dont know if i would go to the expense, as the Mopar ones are probably supplied by Dorman to start with. (just a guess) But if needed Mopar lists two different part no's. OE#: 2857917 OE Manufacturer: CHRYSLER & OE#: 3799089 OE Manufacturer: CHRYSLER. Hope this may help. :icon_salut:

Hi !

I just bouht NOS on ebay.
Thank You for Your fast answers.
I´ll change them all.

Has someone ever seen something like this . . . ?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The sheetmetal broke.
But no rust in this area.

I think I´ll fix it with some aluminiumfoil and some paint.
