I have a 1979 New Yorker Fifth Ave which, I know, does not fall under your F,M,J limits but maybe after you read this a nice soul will have a answer for me. I found your site looking up fore mentioned vehicle and found a picture from someone here on your site. The New Yorker was being parted out. I need the Bright light, Washer/Wiper/, Cruise Control switch and Stalk from the New Yorker being parted out.
You would not believe the difficulty trying to find this part. If anyone has a bead on where one could find this evasive part. I would be most appreciated.

Hopefully, someone on here will be able to help you out.

You may want to try the ForBBodiesonly.com website as well. They are all B bodies, and since the 1979 R bodies (New Yorker, St. Regis, etc.) ARE B bodies, they may have more knowledge, or more members with knowledge of the R bodies there.

Thank you for that info.

The turn signal stalk with all the cruise/ wiper controls is the same from any similar equipped J or M body...only difference is Chrysler colour keyed them to about 81? (not sure may have been later)...after that they were all black.

There's an 87 5th being parted on this site...may have what you want.

IMO, I "think" the color coded stalks depended on vehicle trim level. Most low-end cars got black. Most high-end cars got color-coded stalks.

I might be incorrect on this but I have seen and worked on a bunch of these cars and what I said I think is the most correct answer.

The electrical plug-in changed around '88 or so, so I "suspect" any '80-87 Chrysler car (not pickup/van) or '79 R-body stalk will work (which there is a Tilt steering and a non-Tilt version of the stalk).
This is from my '79 parts manual:

Note: I have seen colored stalks not available over the parts counter. I guess it is easier to carry 1 part (in black) than to carry multiple parts that may or might not sell, maybe. The later years do come colored over the Chrysler parts counter.

I have NOT done a comparison between ('80 and up FMJ) Tilt and non-Tilt switches - but "suspect" the only difference is wire length.

They went to black mid 80s but it seems some colors lasted longer then others. Maybe they were using what they had left.
