LOL...as the title says: is there any easy way to do this?

These are old mounts, I figured I would try out POLY engine mount bushings for the stroker build and really didn't want to hack up my very nice factory setups that have all of 10 seasons of summer driving on them.

Anyways, so I dug through my boxes, freed up a "save these for later" set of mounts, cut off as much of the rubber as I could, but what a PITA job this is.

So here is the thing: I have a pretty nice hydraulic press standing by (Old Betsy as I call her), 5" piston, the pump tops at 1500 psi, so that gives me about 29,500 psi total pressure and following all the conversions (someone check my calculations here) I'm thinking that's about 14 Ton press. Should be plenty enough to just push the darn biscout out...no?

I remember the pain It was to get the transmission one out. You can always burn them out but it's a lot of stink and smoke to do that around home.

I've always used a press - but I've also not tried to remove the rubber from a non-broken mount (yet) either.

Yup, the press took care of the problem...queue in the SNL New York skit (forget the character name, you know the one that says "talk amongst yourselves" at the end ? LOL): "like butter"!

Still, cleaning up the stuff that's left-over, clinging to the metal shell is a PITA none the less.
