We've had a lot of flying truck tires around here on the 401 at Putman and one death.
The 401 at Putman is a 'Bermuda Triangle' of crashes.
Well worth avoiding.

Hate to sound like an asshole, but I never clean the snow off the roof. It was a benefit one winter though. One winter, shortly after moving to MD from FL, I was driving to work in the Diplo. Didn't have any 4x4s at the time, so I took Law & Order (the Diplomat's name). Some schmuck in an F-350 was tailgating me so I popped the roof (I have no headliner) and a chuck flew off and hit his grille. He backed off and a couple of minutes later he was back. So I hit again and the same thing. At round 3, I got tired of the game so I hit towards the back to get a big chunk off. This big chunk hit the front of his truck and blew up into pieces. Needless to say, he dropped way back. Hindsight being 20/20, I could've caused an accident. However, he could've caused me to get into one as well.

Didn't we have the flying transport truck tire epidemic like what? 10 years ago?
1997 was a big year.
While flying wheels decreased dramatically in Ontario after 1997, when there were 215 crashes
FLYING TRUCK WHEELS
Reported on Ontario highways:
2010: 47
2011: 56
2012: 97
2013: 147
2014: 148
2015: 82

I had to look it up, but there is a AWD Prius, so when the front wheels slips, the chains out back might do something.

As far as I've read though awd was a 2015 option. Before that model in the picture I think. Mind you.....I'm definitely not any kind of prius expert.

Regardless it would primarily be a fwd car so you have to wonder what kind of mind would put chains in the rear.

Oh right.....the mind of a prius driver.
As you can see in the picture.....it's working well.

Something has to be done.
