That car is about 8 miles from my home / 5 miles from my work.
Not seen this car before, though.

Currently at $810.00 (US). The powertrain is worth that much.
No Lean Burn, either!

That close Bud , I remembered you were in Oklahoma but that was about it . They had a 78 New Yorker Brougham in California it was a little better in paint and interior (Burgundy Leather) and all options worked . Starting price 3k and no one bought it . I would love to own one once I get a metal storage building , and that captains hat.

concentrating the costs of operating the thing for a year, I would not pay more for it.

That would have been the Ultimate Touring Steamer. I think this is the last time a designer was given free run of a project. Beautiful cars. I love the front end and body lines, grill, roof lines. I like everything about them. Heck of a deal to, even if you weren't looking for one. Heh heh, Id be back to spending $100/wk on gas again too.

I passed on several beauties with better paint and immaculate interiors with starting prices of 3K which went unbidded on at EBAY . I will aquire one in the near future. The Chrysler Imperial / New Yorkers Great 232'' Battleships of a bygone era

The 440/727 combo, along with dual air temp options combined for great gas mileage !

My mom had a ’76 or ‘77 New Yorker, back in the day.
She kept my dad frustrated at her, for she kept driving car until it was dead on the road from overheated or from lack of oil. Each time, my dad would fix the leak, re-top the fluids and car would be off again without car complaining (until mom ran it out of another fluid, again – countless times). That car had lights and gauges – and she wouldn’t stop if a light came on (a warning light meant go faster to her, I guess) until the car stopped on her. I can’t remember how many times my dad got on to her about watching the gauges/lights.
It had Lean Burn and if I recall correctly, she got about 18-20 MPG in it, with the 440.

I took my driving test in that car, parallel parking, and all. The driving tester said there was no way I could parallel park that land yacht – but I did without any problem. Can’t say the same thing for my younger brother, though.

In ’85, I think. The car was parked at a stoplight and a speeding Toyota, coming from other direction, ran right into the front of her car. The Toyota looked like something the Hulk and Ironman used it as an “object” to kill each other with. The New Yorker had a torn bumper nerf strip, a broken fiberglass header panel and a dinged hood. Dad got it fixed and traded it in on a new Minivan.

Did you purchase the car? If so, do you need a place to park it until pickup – or anything? If so, let me know and I’d be more than happy to help out as needed.

No available garage space – but I do own an acre by Bethany, Oklahoma (a town inside of Oklahoma City) – so plenty of space.

Would you interested in a 2 door? Planning to put this one up for sale in the spring.

Same color as my mom’s car was.

It would be almost worth it to drive up in it and park in a manner where you couldn’t see the 2-door part – just to see the expression on my dad’s face.

My ’70 300 has the same wheels on it – but different wheel paint colors.

Details about the car and location?
