Hi all, new to this site, but been into Mopar for over 25 years, so a few of you may know me from other forums and swap meets. I have a 1978 Dodge Aspen V8 car that was barn stored when they stopped driving it in 1997 when the owner passed away. 318-4 auto, pw brake, factory black with burgundy red interior and looks to never been in an accident. A really clean CA car that has almost no rust except for a little starting on the lower rear quarters. Fast forward when I picked up the car a couple years back and had dropped it off at Magnum Force Racing for suspension upgrading. Recently had a full "Transformer" package done on the frontend which is a heavy duty custom crossmember, fabricated chrome-moly tubular upper control arms, powder coated blue k-member, heavy duty lower control arms, Swaybar package, 15:1 ratio power steering, double adjustable coil over shocks, 2in forged dropped Mopar spindles (1973+ large bearing type) small/big block motor mounts (later style hemi mounts car be used) and Wilwood hubs so it could be rolled around easily came out to $6,000 in parts alone. Since Magnum Force installed the front end and got it all right, that was another $2000 in installation. Then the Value of the car since it's soo clean and complete was another $2,000 making this a $10k project car. Sadly, with soo many cars in project form right now, decided to let this one go. for $5500. That pretty cheap for most of the hard work done. If someone wanted to, this suspension would fit 1966-74 B/E-body models and would just need the upper control arms changed and they could sell off the body to re-coupe some cost. Have not tried to start the 318 engine as I was going to install a 550hp engine, but its all there. Steers fine, rear brakes still hooked up so it can still use emergency brakes and transmission can still be shifted from the column to help stabilize it for transport and storage. So $5500 is what I'm starting at, not interested in any trades (though I am looking for 1971/1972 Roadrunner/Satellite project locally). I have a friend who does transport and can do west coast/Cali quotes for those that can not pickup in San Jose. Have pink slip. Rally wheels are not included and a set of ugly, mis-matched junky rollers will be on the car. Thanks for viewing.

So you pulled the engine to do all the suspension work, installed it back in, but never tried to start it? Hmmm..... Any pics of the install?

No, they only removed the suspension section of the car and left the engine in so they could mockup location and measurements. The motor was only used for mocking up as it was just a smogger 318 and the race engine was not done yet. I forgot to ad it as the site only allows 10 pics, so I deleted one, so I Only have one of the suspension when I loaded it on the trailer.

Got any paperwork on this kit or the install?

Is this one of there other kits grafted on?

"Since Magnum Force installed the front end and got it all right, that was another $2000 in installation."

Are they not a bolt in kit? If it was "all right" why cant the car be driven?

Sorry to ask so many questions but this to me is one of the oddest listings ive seen in a while.

No paperwork, you can look up the parts list on their site. I could get some paperwork from Ron, but The cost to install the frontend in their shop usual shop rate. This is a bolt on assembly as all of their suspension are. It's their "Transformer" suspension with the F-body brackets to mount up the assembly. I an referring that since they know the suspension, it was installed properly and done right is all. It's a project, that's why it's not driving condition. I don't know why you think that's odd. I no longer have access to a hoist, thus no better pics, sorry. I do welcome anyone local to check out the car if your truly interested.

No prob. I’ll stop by the shop Tuesday and see about paperwork or at least a parts list. I’m currently helping Ron with selling off his Mopar collection to free up some room.

You have owned the car for a couple of years so the title is in your name ? You know how Calif. and other locations like their fees. Is there a Non-Operational affidavit filed with the DMV ?

Good Luck

Not been in system for over 20
Years and estate signed it off. Won’t be a problem for anyone to register it or to even transport out of the country ( shipped two cars this month and one was not registered in 35 years). Don’t know aboout non-op as the original owner died and it was signed off by his estate. Fees might be small, but only in California. The other 49 states is not a worry as fees won’t affect them. Check your local ordinances to see what is needed.

Estate signed off on it.

So there is a title ? Signed, by the estate, selling it to you ? But no title in your name ?
With a Bill of Sale signed by you with the new owner's info ?

I’ll see if I have time to go DMV this week and see about paperwork. Now the real question, is who is interested and who ‘just looking’ so I know.

Update: forgot the title was done last year already and had confused it with another car I have. Will be easy for some to register it.

Also, found I had trunk keys with it and was able to get inside pics of the clean trunk pan area.

Really want to move this project out, so dropping price to $5k firm. That’s 1/2 of what it costs.

Dropping price to $4600 as I want to move on. Will store til end of August, then I’m gonna probably put the suspension and bench seat (for my truck rod) and scrap the body out. Still looking for a clean driver 1971/1972 satellite 2dr on west coast we can work something out on.
