Your lucky you can't put it down so far now, my sister had a new system put in about four years ago and it's just under ground. Its froze up two of the four years.
My sewer pipes are about 6 feet down and normally they'd be fine. Combine extreme cold with partially blocked pipe (roots) and it's a recipe for disaster. The father/son sewer service were great though and, they're also car guys so, it's all good.

I haven't been snowmobiling for almost 25 years. It was fun but got too expensive and we kept getting less and less snow here(some winters the trails never even opened in this county) which means you had to trailer up north, get a hotel room, eat out, $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Besides, I can't stand the cold as much anymore. Getting old(er) really sucks IMO.

Grumble, complain, grrrrrrrrr,,,,,,,,,,,Today 2-4" of snow,,,,,,,,Monday periodic snow showers,,,,,,,,,,Tuesday snow with "substantial accumulation possible", what ever that means. Now some more grumbling, complaining and whining followed by a big sigh, because all that won't change the weather. At least it's ABOVE zero, so that's something anyways.

The snow the weather people have been threatening for the last 3 days finally showed up with a vengeance. Forecast said 1-3 inches. Thankfully the weather people are never wrong. NOT. A foot on the ground already and still coming down at about 2 inches an hour with no letup in sight. Might be a snow day tomorrow. While I don`t have a problem driving in the snow(service truck I drive is just under 10000Lbs)Everyone else on the road concerns me. That truck is 9'2" tall and 23 feet long but somehow almost completely invisible to other drivers.

I think it has finally stopped circling. It started last night and never let up. First time since 1993 that I stayed home from work because of snow. There was just no possible way to even get down my street. From the predicted 8-12", we got almost 16" in total. It's days like this that I am so glad for spending all that money on a snowblower a few years ago.

Yesterday: Nothing but sunshine, high of 35, wind speed of zero, the birds were chirping, peoples moods were up. Beautiful day, for February anyways. Sorry to see it end. Rain, freezing rain, sleet and then heavy, wet snow (8-12" possible) and low 30's for temps, then the strong winds come and temps get lower as the storm ends mid day tomorrow. "High" on Monday? A steamy 7 degrees. Really????????????????? I'm thinking this could suck a whole bunch. Let's see how much weight we can put on roofs before they collapse shall we? North side of my house it's ONLY about 2 feet deep up there. It's built better than code but I still worry a little. No practical way to remove it either.

Never even got above zero today. Gee, guess what? More snow tomorrow, and Wednesday, and Thursday,,,,,,,,,,,and Friday.............. At least it's really f'ing cold:rolleyes: I really don't know how much more of this sh*t I can take and I am not kidding. Not to mention, there's no bleeping place to put any more bleeping snow when it bleeping comes and I'm not bleeping kidding about that either.

As I said yesterday we got big snow Saturday night and Sunday with 45 mile per hour winds. So we got about 10" of snow according to the weather guessers but my property is a corner lot or I should say lots it's more than a forth of a city block and I had a good two feet of new snow. All the paths were filled in level with the rest of the yard. There was so much snow the small town I live in got out the grade to push snow, something they haven't done since the early 90s, he came by two times once to the curb and the next time to push the pile back. This makes for a five foot pile of snow to get to the street, and just got the word my grandson is out of school tomorrow also.........11 snow days this year.

All the schools were closed here also yesterday. With the million mph wind, the plows couldn't keep up with the drifting. I guess some outlying areas had the roads unpassable with 6 foot drifts. Yikes.
As they promised, it started snowing (again......) about 2pm. At least it's the light fluffy stuff and, unlike the past couple days, the wind speed is basically zero. Getting really sick of driving home from work doing 25-35 mph because of the ice and packed snow which is basically the same as ice. It's too cold for salt to do anything. All the sand they spread helps but it sure makes a mess of vehicles. Doesn't do the paint any favors but sand does way less damage than salt eventually will do.

The grandson was home today also, three days of being stuck in the house, having drug out all the old VHS movies, played all the board games and his Nintendo to no end. The last two days arguing was his sport, he would argue when there was no argument, other than that throwing the football to each other taking the dog out and fighting with the snow it's been an interesting three days. For some reason my front axle isn't engaging in the Expedition witch adds to the struggle. I don't remember a winter this challenging since maybe 83/84, my wife and I were so broke I had to pull the battery out of my 65 Willys pickup every night after work and take it in the house so it would start the tornado six in the morning. Even then it was iffy, the old six needed a valve job so the compression was low and it took starter fluid to get it to bark. The next summer I put a 440 and torqueflite.
Think spring

We are on track here to have the coldest February in recorded history with an average temperature for the whole month at 0.3 degrees above freezing. Not nearly as cold or as much snow as you guys have back east but a whole lot colder than we are used to out here in the banana belt.

Got another 5" of that white stuff last night. At least it's above zero today. Heck, might even make it to double digits this afternoon.

Ditto.
I have a question. What do you do when there's never ending snow and you are plain out of room to put it? I was going to shovel off the tops of the snowbanks by the end of my driveway so I can see down the bleeping road to back out and then realized, shovel it to where? First thing I'd need before even trying is mountain climbing gear to get to the summit. Maybe it'll melt someday. When it's only in the single digits for highs though, not a whole lot of melting going on.:(

So you guys in Iowa decided to join us I see. Yep, started snowing,,,,,,,,,,again,,,,,,,,,,at 4pm, just when they said it would. 3-5" expected. What, not deep enough already? High Sunday of 6, low Monday morning -20, high a whopping +4.

Average February snowfall here is 10.2". We got 54" on top of what already was on the ground. It's like 5 feet deep and is going to take FOREVER to melt IF it ever gets above freezing again someday. Heck, I'd be jumping for joy if it got above 20 degrees right about now. When I look out the kitchen window, the snow is less than a foot from the sill (it's a foot ABOVE the front living room window sill)and it's level all the way to the street and the neighbors house and near the street is deeper than that from the snowbanks. I wasn't worried about the snow on the roof of the house, garage and shed before but now, I'm getting a little concerned. On the north side of the house it's so deep I wonder how there hasn't been an avalanche yet. No real practical way of getting it all off, not to mention the gigantic ice dams and icicles. Hope for the best I suppose.

I had to laugh tonight as I took the boys pinewood derby car up to the school for the weigh in, that the garbage tub a 64 gallon monster has but a foot showing above the snow and its sitting on a foot of snow.
