Well, like I've said before, your an old grouch who doesn't like anything.:p

When that red Dodge goes ariborne, it's awesome. "Your buggin' me man, your buggin' me". I always keep waiting for Peter Falk to say "just one more thing" while driving his cab.
To really date the movie, it seems the only surviving cast member is Carl Reiner. He had a cameo as a controller in the airport tower. Guess it dates me also, I was born a year after the movie was made:eek:

Never liked the James Bond movies when I was younger. I don't know why, they just did not catch my interest. I found a select grouping of them on Netflicks over the weekend, not the complete series, just a handful. I have been watching them, and kind of enjoying them. I think I just like the look back at the world as I remember it, the old buildings, and the old cars. The Bond movies seem to favor the furd motor company, but that's ok. They had some nice cars over the years.

I’ve noticed, re-watching shows made in the ‘70’s (for example), there is generally a note at end of show, saying "vehicles provided by ___ ". Ford and Chrysler seem to be the two most popular ones mentioned. Either I’ve not noticed this on more recent TV shows or its missing. It might be because I’ve not watched a lot of shows made today.
The shows made in the ‘70’s (for example) or before – I don’t have to worry about anything coming up that might make the 12-yo twins ask questions or put their hands over their mouths (or me putting my hands over their ears and/or eyes).

A bird in the hand............They blew up a Rolls Royce, along with the gardener. At least that's the one I saw last night.

Bud, I'm not sure if the companies supply cars like that anymore but as you said, I don't really watch any new fictional shows other than maybe NCIS and,,,,,,,,,,,hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,,,,,I guess that's the only one. My viewing is mainly Science Channel, History, DIY, and other channels similar to those for new shows. Otherwise, METV, Decade's, etc...........Then again, I don't really watch ALL that much TV anyways (middle of winter excepted, lol).

Jim Backus, that guy was awesome as an actor. One of 'the great ones".

They loaned the cars to the studios, until some time in the 80s, now they pay for the privelage to loan cars that the studios often destroy. NCIS has received cars from Chrysler (unpaid) from the beginning, including many of the other brand vehicles. Older vehicles are rented from a number of car houses that service Hollywood, and even leased from private individuals. You can tell when GM or Ford pay for screen time since that is all you will see. Chrysler seems to be a lot more friendly about other brands on screen Dodge is a major sponsor of the Fast and Furious franchise, but there are a ton of other brands represented in the movies.

I think NCIS has used Mopar's because Mark Harmon is a Mopar guy. The yellow Hemi Challenger seen in the intro and in a couple episodes is his own car, from what I've read anyways.

The actual NCIS used Intrepids and now Chargers. The Challenger is Mark Harmon's though. Quite a few "cop" shows use what ever cars the department they are depicting uses.

Ask any State Patrol officer which brand they prefer, Dodge, Ford or Chevy and they will say Dodge without hesitation.

Last night, "Dr. No" was on one of the EPIX channels (free preview week). Didn't start until 9pm and by 10 pm I was done, shot, couldn't stay awake if my life depended on it so, I missed the second half.:(

A week of sitting at the computer programming using software I'm not used to... bleh.

Finished most of the website and decided to go feed the goats and flip on the tv.
The equalizer.... Denzel is a bad-a$$ in this one but a good guy and I just really, really like the music almost as much as watching him kick butt. Zack Hempsey - Vengence

"A View to a Kill" was on EPIXH last night (still free preview week it seems). Like Dr. No a couple nights ago, it didn't come on until 9:05 so I only saw part of it before the eyes refused to stay open. Not the best Bond movie but it's still not too bad.

Watched one my favorite what I'll call "comfortable" movies this afternoon, as I lay miserable on the couch with a cold or flu or some other creeping crud. The movie was "Cars". Hudson Hornet did what in his cup? Love that movie.
I put it in the category of others I like watching like Shrek, Ice Age or Monsters Inc.

The same goes for Monsters, Inc and Ice Age. First one pretty darn good, the sequels are OK but nothing you have the urge to watch more than once.
Kind of like Smoky and the Bandit. First one is awesome, second one is watchable (maybe), the 3rd one is absolutely horrible.
