I just wandered around YouTube and saw it. I like it for some reason! Not my car.

It's funny in 1988 my choice for a new mopar was a Chysler Lebaron Coupe, my kids were little 2 and 7, my wife and I were 29 and this car was not even on the radar for us. It was an old man's car and to me it still is. Now that I'm 60 I'd drive it and enjoy it if it had air otherwise it's a winter beater. I will add he paid what its worth.

When he's driving with that droopy headliner, it reminds me of a scene from that old Sci-fi movie "Fantastic Voyage". It's like a white blood corpuscle trying to ingest his skull! :)

In 1988 I was 2 and my parents were preparing to flee Philthadelphia in a dark blue Diplomat with matching velour. Hey how's THAT feel, Iron? lol

LOL! Notice the ashtrays in the armrests. That was a little jarring! LOL!

No sound on the second video, clean car though, its almost equipped like my Gran Fury (mine didn't have a cassette deck, cruise control, or the glove box and door open lights though) same red interior with no A/C, only mine's a lot more sun baked. Intresting belt set-up with the wheel in the middle I wonder if it was always like that mine isn't though mine's an '85 so maybe they changed that? That Black Cherry paint does look great with that red interior

It has the idlers pulley setup that many, but not all non-a/c cars and trucks had starting in the late 70s. I have one in my stash

Nice car, especially for only $1,600 that he paid.
One thing he said is "someone stole the catalytic converter". That's a first for me. Losers actually go around stealing converters? Seriously? I've heard it all now.

They get a pretty good payday stealing catalytic converters because of the platinum in them. It has been a thing in big cities for a while now.

Happens around this area too, especially in industrial areas where trucks are parked over the weekend. They steal the converters if they have them and the batteries are are a big ticket item as well.

To some thieves, taking a cordless Sawzall and a few NOISY moments, they can liberate a parking lot of 10 pickups in about 15 minutes (for 10 cat converters). They prefer pickups because no lifts or floor jacks are needed. Just slide from one vehicle, toss the converter one way and saw the next, and work down the aisle.

I hadn’t seen anyone buying converters, but I’m sure someone does. I’m not even sure what the going price is. I do know the Pull-A-Part by me, cuts the converters off all vehicles before car enters the yard. Also, there are signs marked they will not sell a used converter (which is ironic sense none get to the yard to begin with). It might even be an EPA thing (me shrugs).

I have a few old converters siting outside of my garage that I need to do something with (that came off my own cars).

Idiots will steal anything...
Cats from that era didn't have platinum thats a 90s and later cats..
Just honeycomb ceramic type..
But noone said thieves were smart.
I had an 85 dippy squad.. Green tan former Detroit det. Car..
Miss it...
Love to find one out here in Phoenix for a reasonable price and a 81-84 AHB...
But no torsion bar parts.
Parts cars,carbs, blah...blah.blah..
Plus virtually done with ANYTHING with more than 2 doors..
Still nice find never seen many Ms without ac.. But in cold climates..
Crazy birds out there..
