Seems they were wrong with the forecast. Yesterday it never hit 50 and rained almost the entire day. So far, it's no better today. Raining and 38 degrees :(
On Thursday evening I was out mowing the lawn and it was still 75 degrees (after a high of 79), the sun was shining, humidity was 24% and there was a slight breeze of 3-5mph,,,,,,,,,,,,,,absolute perfection. Weekend comes and nothing but crap. Sigh.................................

We have a very high threat of major tornados today, in Oklahoma.
I would assume that might also affect JustWondering, maybe.

We had nothing but rain all day and a so called "high" of 43 degrees on Sunday. Saturday wasn't much, if any, better. :(

Rain or no rain, I just wish it would warm the bleep up already. Getting to the end of May and it barely broke 50 today and, there was frost in the low lying areas this morning.:(:(

Wish and ye shall receive I guess. After a rouge wind storm around 2:30 am for half an hour last night, with winds up to 70 mph (no t-storm, not really any rain either, odd) this afternoon, the drizzle and crap cleared out and the temp shot up to over 70!!!!!!!!! The wind made a mess though. About 30,000 customers without power in the metro area this morning, trees down, crap scattered everywhere............ The 3 day weekend is supposed to be spectacular, sunny and in the low 70's. if it's true, all I can say is, it's about flippin' time!

All the rain went to BudW where the floodwaters began to rise.

I have rain, high humidity, mud, dirt, then it rains again and the cycle repeats.

Being a shade tree mechanic in the rain/high humidity/mud is no fun.
Misquitos are out but all the pretty plants blooming as well.

Aspen500 I swear you would complain if you were hung dead by a brand new gold rope only it would be really creative and we would all love it. (the complaint, not the dead part).

lol

Thanks JW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I think.;)

OK, no more complaining, I promise, lol. One plus of the weather we've had is, there are no bugs to speak of and zero mosquito's. Think I've cleaned maybe half a dozen bugs off the windshield so far this year. Never really have them (mosquito's) around my house anyways. Lots of bats (which give me the creeps) but no blood sucking insects.

Supposed to finally get to spring today and potentially stay there, sunny and high 70's (!!!!!!), once the dense fog goes away that is. Can barely see the building across the street right now.

Rain ... rain. I’m not sure what you mean (he he).

In last 30 days, I’ve gotten 12.2 inches (31 cm) of rain, the 60 days, 18.2 inches (46.2 cm) of rain. The last 365 days, I’ve received 59.7 inches (151.6 cm).

We (only) average 32.4 inches (82.3 cm) of rain, per year.

I’ve got 1 acre of property, with about 130 trees on it - most of which is white oak. After a normal storm, we typically get a small puddle form in our front yard – which lasts a few hours. After a heavy storm (lots of rain) we might have a good small pond (15 feet, or so, in diameter) that sticks around for a day. After the rain we got Monday, which had a PDS warning (Particularly Dangerous Situation), our pond turned into a lake – which shortly later, my house (more or less) was “lake-front property”. I didn’t get any damage – but our storm cellar got a couple of inches of water in it (from high water table, seeping through the concrete) hours later.

My son has been griping that he can’t mow (which means he can’t get paid). We got another 1/2 inch of rain last night (included in the figures, above) and expecting more rain today.

We actually got a couple nice days, on a weekend even! Sunny (some clouds today though) high's in the 70's and NO RAIN:) That goes away tomorrow but 2 out of 3 isn't bad, right?

Still, that darn snow is taking it's own sweet time melting. This is the upper half of Granite Peak, on the north side of Rib Mountain as of a yesterday. Seeing that white stuff gives me the willies, lol.

Had some scary weather this weekend.

Friday night, I got home from work at 8pm – while being “weather aware” (potential tornadic storms in area). I tried to say no with the bad weather in area and the time of movie, for Saturday afternoon would be a better pick (better prices, less weather worries) – but I lost that battle. Picked up my 12-year-old daughter at home, went to friend’s house and picked up another 12-year-old girl. Arrived downtown Oklahoma City at 9:30pm. The tornados were not going to affect us – but a cell producing strong wind and hail, was about too. After getting a bite to eat, and while in line at theater (10:15pm), the heavy rain/hail started.

Note: The movie Aladdin is almost an exact copy (99.5%) of the animated movie of same name. No need to waste your money unless you hadn’t seen the original. A good show, though. The actors didn’t look/act out of place and so forth, being placed in middle east.

Storm had already moved out of area by movie end. Took both kids back for sleepover at their house, well past midnight.

On Saturday, another wave of tornadic weather came through. After spending much of the day watching the weather and working on projects, I thought we were clear so went to bed a bit earlier than I usually do. Wife was in other room playing a computer game. Son was on a sleepover and daughter was doing . . . well, I have little idea what 12-year-old girls do at night, other than not sleep. There were some thunderstorms in area but didn’t think they were serious. About 11 pm (which is really late for a tornado), a strong wind front hit my house (reports said 80-90 MPH strait-line winds) then a freight train noise. A few seconds later the sirens went off. Wife, daughter and I started running around house like headless chickens, not knowing what to do (this time).

Turned on the TV and noticed a tornado hit El Reno, OK (about 12 miles West of me) had a tornado destroy a mobile home park, a dealership and a hotel. Funnel went back up, jumped over my house, and touched ground about 6 miles East of me, damaging a bunch of lake-front houses.

No damage to my property except for some scattered trash (neighbor’s yard?).

As of today, all is good at my campsite, except foir having 30+ inches above average rainfall, this year.

Monday we had tornadoes as close as twenty miles from us in Charles City Ia., just property damaged reported. The weather was strange all day with mini downpours all day followed by sun. The boys Cub scout activities with the VFW at the cemetery were canceled. I was not aware of the dangerous conditions and we had local TV on, usually it's all over the local broadcasting.

Im semi lucky here, bad weather tends to go just to the north and south but about 5 years ago we did have one the tore the tin off the neighbors barn and actually the rotating part touched done about 75 feet behind my house but I was on the back side and nothing bad came of it except me freaking out.

Im sorta on the place where all the bad weather starts and thats spooky enough for me.

I'd love to move to southern Missouri northern Arkansas but it seems like you have to be a storm chaser for that move. I think it was two years ago that Minnesota had tornadoes in February across the state.

Every morning on the radio while driving to work, I hear about more tornadoes and severe storms in various places lately. Fortunately, tornadoes (or even severe t-storms for that matter) are fairly rare in this area but when they do come, and the sirens go off, it always give me the chills. Living in a house with no basement doesn't help either. For whatever reason, when bad storms do roll through the area, they almost always seem to go a few miles south, or a few miles north. Could be bright and sunny at my house while the north side or south side of the city is getting destroyed. It's odd, like the storms split then reconnect on the east side.

Stay safe out there!
