I wish I could be there.

My Mopar club (Central Oklahoma Mopar Assn) has specific trophy classes as well – and FMJ vehicles are, well, not in any specific class – except for Modern. Even then, it is hard to put any FMJ up against a Demon or a modern 300/Hurst (and so forth).

Two years ago, my wagon (which I would refer to a survivor, sense it is almost all original) came in second (of two in my class), against a Pro-Mod (if using the correct term) AMC Gremlin – which is completely opposite of my car. It has a roll cage and a 440 in it. Not a good comparison.

It's like the Fbody didn't exist. I think the last time I saw an Fbody at mopar max in Cedar Falls it was a restored Super Coupe a couple years ago.

Sometime's it seems like Chrysler Corp started building cars in 1964 and stopped in 1974, then started again in 2005, according to certain people (a.k.a. Mopar snobs), doesn't it? You'd think they didn't build full size trucks prior to 1994 or Dakota's prior to 1997 either.

I rarely go to the car shows now. There was one yesterday but it was 97 out and getting ready to rain. I go in the winter when it's nice out, especially to take out my non-A/C cars. Everything at the shows either has those huge black wheels or LS swaps or I'm one of three people with an old car and the rest are just daily drivers they are making payments on. Or the Superbird with the new Hellcat engine and lambo doors full of woofers, or the "rat rods..... It must just be that I'm too old. I had my Diplomat up past 110 on the alley Friday morning and that was my blast for the week. I think you guys in the north have better car shows. You appreciate them more. Here, they seem to butcher old cars up.

NEVER see F bodies anymore. There is one Petty Volare around that I see and he's trying to sell it, when it's gone mine and my wife's will be the last in this area as far as I'm aware. F bodies are becoming more collectible that some of us are aware.

Around here, aside from a show, it is VERY rare to see anything built in the last century on the road, late '90's at the oldest and even that's not very common.

It's always odd. You'd think there weren't any "cars" around here but when there is a show or cruise, they come out of the woodwork by the hundreds. Guess it goes with the territory. Normally there's so much flippin' traffic, you hate to take a collector or hobby car out on the road most of the time. I include myself in that. Even though you drive a regular vehicle in it everyday and nothing happens, it's always still in the back of your mind the "what if". It's sad but that's the way it is.

I got a car out and washed it for a "Mopar show" at one of our local bridges about 6 months ago. Was supposed to be a big one. A huge flier had been given to me and got the car ready and wife was even in the mood to go and we drove the 15 miles up there and it turned out to be us in our 71 GTX, 5 or 6 PT cruisers, a bunch of new V6 challengers and chargers, a few durangos, a guy in a primered cordoba drive by but never stopped and a decent 80's conversion van.

OK, so on a positive note, went to one in Feb, there was an A12 Bee (wife loved that one as she used to have a green one), a Desoto ambulance, a slant six duster with a procharger, a nice 71 Bee, 76 New Yorker, Dodge aspen fake Chicago PD car, and your usual 15 V6 challengers. Was a good one

I love how most shows will recognize amc as mopar, but not fmj cars.
