Problem is, it's pretty much impossible to remove rust, such as the inside of a frame rail because there's no way to get at it. I agree, the coatings aren't a cure all BUT, they will at least help slow the process down and also seal what rust there is from water and oxygen. No oxygen, no rusting.
My uncle always said "you can never stop rust, you can only slow it down" and he was correct.
One thing when using the internal coating, tape over all the openings except the one the tube is inserted into and make sure to put a drop cloth on the floor. It doesn't clean up off the floor very well. Not that I have any personal experience with that.
