I stumbled upon some kind of a "cruise in" near Christchurch about 6 years back and I saw a LOT of big old American cars. Especially big Cadillacs, Buicks, full size Fords and just about anything Chrysler including a few really nice E bodies.

Ready to go back together, just waiting on bushes, I have the window pivots turning silky smooth now, took a week for oil to work its way down.

It's going to have to go through Papua, Anchorage and Seoul a few times before you get it

This is what blows my brains out! The parts come over from USA and arrive in Auckland NZ, 1200miles odd from chch and then they take half as long from Auckland to Chch, go figure that one!

I'm used to getting stuff from, for example, the west coast over 2,000 mile away in couple days using standard shipping. I'm always amazed when ordering from Summit, especially if it comes from the Ohio warehouse 650 miles away. Order at 8pm on Monday and get home from work at 5pm on Tuesday, and the package is sitting by the front door once in a while, Wednesday evening for sure. I really don't know how they (Summit and FedEx) do it. Seems we're spoiled.:)

The one I'll really never figure out is the NOS brake pedal pad. I ordered it on-line from a place in San Diego CA (which is 2,100 miles away) about 5pm on a Saturday (would have been 3pm there) and shipping was through USPS. Got home Monday afternoon, and there it was in my mailbox. How the??????????????????????

Have you ever thought how amazing post is, you go to the post office, chuck your parcel into a black hole, 3 weeks later its been to 5 different countries and pops up on your door step. Amazing I think they don't loose it!

Yes. Stick something in your mailbox, it gets picked up and makes it to it's destination the next day or day after. Multiply that times a few million envelopes and parcels everyday and it really is amazing. Should be, they charge enough! lol First class stamps are 50 cents, unless it went up since I checked.

Oldiron, that's what you get for living in Iowa. Just kidding of course. We have no problem with Iowa here in Wisconsin. Illinois on the other hand..........................:D

I think it was the Roman Empire that came up with the postal system, but it's amazing. The military system is even more so. I never did fully understand how our mail was able to catch up with us everywhere we went. Those FPO/APO clerks were magicians

Since my car road legal now and today is a nice day I took doba out for a we ride to the gas station. I am amazed at how well I have got it going! It's really not that far off a modern car!! The 360 mag is way better than the smogger 318, the 8.25" is quiet compared to the 7.25", the heavy feel steering, solid body idolators, ff upper contract arms, wider tires, although not got rid of iso clamps, I put poly spring pads in which took the jelly feel out the rear. Anyone who follows my posts will have seen and heard about all my problems! :D

I guess the only thing let's it down is the windows whistle, can you get new rubbers?

The steering gear has a small amount of play in center position but have adjusted to minimal now, it's quite acceptable now.

It's got good wipers now ;)

Things left to do, fit LSD into rear, change governor so trans changes at 5000rpm instead of the economy tune it has now.
