I did put up a parts inquiry on FFMJ and FABO but I was lucky enough to find my own parts... In my own garage... lol

People say, Oh F bodies are catching on............Well the same folks are California Dreamin the F-s time has come and went and will never be as it was. We would line F-s up 10 in a row at the shows in the 80-s. Some times we would have 4 rows.

One reason may be that out of all the f's around in the '80's, 90% of them don't exist anymore(?) One theory anyways.

Don't look at me, I have just the one!:) Actually, I've only owned one other f-body and it was a '78 Aspen Coupe that had a problem with the back seat cushion. It didn't sit flat anymore. Something about the front of left spring hanger, still bolted to the mounting bracket, being INSIDE the car, lol. Yes, it was definitely a parts car only.

Gee, I wonder who has a bunch of f's that never get driven? ;)

Sixbanger, maybe lucky for you but if thats an aftermarket replacement they dont last long and some dont work well right off.................So.

Here's some good pics from work one I had in my bay. The truck: 2015 Silverado, 5.3L 4x4 63,000 miles. The cause of the damage: Didn't hear the whole story but it basically comes down to "Hold my beer and watch this". Pretty impressive, it took some skill to do what they did! The pan is holding it together, otherwise the case is in half a dozen pieces. Bet they'll think twice about doing it again now that they paid the $6,200 bill. One Goodwrench reman 6 speed automatic, one core charge (no core on this one, $$$), one new rear driveshaft (they had the front u-joint yoke split wide open) plus labor. Oddly, the transfer case is perfectly fine.

Ouch!

I had a customer with a Dodge 4*4 ¾ ton pickup with broken front control arms (towed in). The front differential has 2 arms per side, one upper and one lower.

not the truck in question, but to show the setup.

We asked him how he broke the control arms. His reply was he was wrapping chain around stumps and to his front differential. Pulling forward a bit, then punching it in reverse to extract those stumps.
I guess he had extracted a stump too many . . .

Beer was presumed to be in the mix.

You wonder what people are thinking (or NOT thinking) when they do crap like that. Over the past 35 years of being an auto tech and seeing the things people do to their vehicles being stupid, thought I'd seen it all but, guess not. This was a new one.:eek: In that amount of time, I'll bet I've personally done at least $50,000 worth of work (parts and labor) because of "hold my beer" moments like that Silverado. Job security, right?:D

I'll bet it still runs, despite the crankshaft inspection hole.:D

Thanks to the guy who sent me this pic (you know who you are). I lost it when my old 'puter crashed a few years ago. It's my dad with the '68 Coronet he bought new. Think it had close to 250,000 miles on it at the time the pic was taken. The car is gone now, sent off to the salvage yard last year due to rot beyond any hope of repair. These days he drives a 2012 Charger. First new car he bought since the Coronet. Dad's still here though. He's 90 now but sometime's I think he has more energy than I do, lol.

My dad bought a new 66 dodge coronet with a 361. Both him and the car have been gone for quite a while.
