I'll bet you could find a tube from a newer vehicle, anything with a rear hatch, that would work perfectly. They all have them in one form or another.

Do you have new speakers lined up for front of Old Yellow?
Thanks for the info BudW! The duel cone speakers in the rear hatch mounts pictured above were from the black OK parts wagon. They aren't any good, so I will have to buy new ones. I do not have any new speakers for the front two small dash mounts I plan to put in. I know there was a previous thread that addressed these small speakers, but I haven't looked for it yet.

I think this is the proper area to post this but I dont see much online about the cb-s in the fmj cars or really the cb-s in general.

I see they still bring good money, even for some rough looking used ones and ive seen some crazy prices on nos or 1/2 nos, used units, new mic, ect.

Im wondering what the nos cb/am and the cb/am/fm go for.

In the product bullitions? I have from chrysler they really were excited about them and stressed pushing the sales of them as well. Ive also a part and price sheet I will post and they were costly even then.

So far from looking into it, am I to understand Chrysler started to use them in 76 in the trucks and passenger cars in 78?

So what do ya know and what pics ya got?
I have 2 of them sitting in my shop with mics & antennas. Been there for 35 yrs or so...

Although my actual knowledge of the meat and potatoes of these is limited but learning, I have followed the internet sales trends of these for years.

Them are decent offering, so not to post commentary in your sales ad, the units I follow on ebay and other mopar sites ones like yours do sell in the 150-180 range, untested listed as parts unless actually hooked up and tested, alot can change in 35 years of non use just sitting with any part, other higher priced units sit a while and sit and then the "old school garage" seller thats had his listing the moves from 600-800 for over a year is kinda mind blowing.

Myself, I look for functionality and equally as well appearance, too bad someone could not run across a box of nos face plates for these, they would sell very well.

There is some good input on these on the C body site and most feel they really suck as a radio/cb but are a great appearance option and for me id bet the nos unit I posted above will see nearly zero actual use, radio or cb.

Ive been asked by a few what I paid for the NOS ab/cb combo I posted on. I feel I did well, even below market since a good nos guy dumped two nos ones for $385 and sold two in less then a month, I paid $302 so I was happy, my wallet wasnt but I was.

It took me less then 30 minutes to gather things up and test and make the vid I posted, it might help in your sales.

I do think them are nice units your listing and would clean up well, but thats just from another guy on the internet with an opinion.

Maybe just a polite way of saying, imo, youd have a easier time selling them at your asking price if youd put a bit of effort in cleaning them up and bench testing them. Thats all.

Yeah, I know..... You trailer queen owners ALWAYS think your opinions are what everyone else should conform to regarding someone elses' car..
I posted a pic of my Roadrunner. All original, 130,000 driver that I wash at the car wash. Do you wash a trailer queen with a cotton ball so not to scratch it? BTW: It runs in the hi 12's also.

Really, come on. Thats ridicules. I, as the staff here likes, did not put in my opinion in your sales ad, I posted an opinion in one I started and that you posted in. I dont see the necessity for your snarky reply. But its all good.

Is running in the hi 12s suppose to be impressive?
It I had a car that was that slow I don't think I would be telling everyone about it.

Hello from Germany.
I was searching the web for information about these old Chrysler CBs and stumbled across this very interesting thread. CB was very popular as well here overseas but it came a bit delayed after the big wave in the US. Today there are still truckers and hobby operators everywhere. I am living next to a huge lake and my friends still use CB on their boats for fun.

I bought one of those Chrysler CB AM/FM radios a while ago because i always wanted to install it someday. Its near mint and i already bench tested it okay.
A few month ago I get me a 1984 Dodge Ramcharger and I want to install that radio in it. The radio i own ist from a Lil Red Express as far as I know but unfortunatelly it came without that splitter can adapter from page one...my car is equipped with a oem fixed standard antenna and I dont want to put an extra CB antenna on it.

As far as I understood from this thread here I have two options: get one of those cans and connect it to my existing antenna or ignore the can and buy a Tri Band antenna with the two cables.... Is that correct?

If someone has the can for sale please let me know.

Thanks
Sebastian

All these radios are crazy prices. I've been trying to find one but not that desperate. At least I have a factory am/fm/8 track radio to have that period correct look

My parts catalog ('79) isn't very specific either. The only antenna it lists that mentions H,N is 4048349 fixed mast antenna package. All the rest shown are for other bodies. No mention of with/without CB or anything else on any of them. You'd think the CB would have a different one.
What does H, N refer to? I have a NOS 4048349 (looking to sell) but I've found out the hard way that the internet is limited when looking up old auto part numbers.

This was taken from a 1980 Parts Manual and refers to the VIN (first digit for '76-80 or fifth digit for '81-89)
The orange is R-body (car lines J,E,T)
Yellow is M-body (car lines F,G and B for Fifth Ave)
Green is F-body (car lines H,N)
Blue is J-body (car lines S,X and Y for Imperial)
Purple is L-body (car lines M,Z)
