Anyone interested in my grandfather's 78 Dodge Aspen Wagon?

He bought it new in 1978 paid it off in 1982. I changed the original title to my name 3 years ago. 73k, Super Six, Auto, AC, Factory Wood Panel Delete, Magnum 500 Rims, Mopar Factory Mud Flaps, Tow Hitch, Mint interior, Mint Headliner, Original Paint, No Bondo, All original!

Car originally came with a crappy AM radio. The only modification is a modern radio with USB & Bluetooth. I also will put back the original steering wheel back on, I just liked the feel of the thin 72 Dodge Swinger wheel.

Made a lot of money renting it out for pleasure ride rentals, Photoshoots for weddings & Independent films.

Asking $10,500 b/o. New Jersey. Might consider trades for a Valiant convertible or a Duster.

Please serious people only. Cash only, no Zelle, bitcoins. Will consider trades but no motorcycles.

Here's the B.S. I had to deal with:
1. Several people from places outside the USA
2. People that were too lazy to make the 1 hour drive to see the car
3. Grown men who needed their wife's permission first
4. Another guy that only had a couple hundred and wanted to do a payment plan
5. A guy that wants a $150k Plymouth Hemi Cuda but has the cash for and is browsing for 5th Avenues, Volare, Cordobas.

Looks nice but it's probably a tough market for a /6 volare wagon. Maybe ebay or bring a trailer would get it moving closer to asking price.

The asking price is what the car is insured for, the wagon was appraised by the insurance company for that value, it was a starting point. They wouldn't value it at that dollar amount and then have me drive it into a tree to collect. I guess I'll try the other two places I saw one sell for 11k and another for 7500 with no title. No one is selling them, impossible to find in any configuration trying to sell it to an enthusiast or someone that had one as a kid in the family like I did.

What do you charge for a rental fee? Per day, Per hour? Curious to know as it sounds like a good way to make a little extra money

Nice R/T Aspen! Wheel choice is too modern looking, I would have gone cragars, turbine or gold honey comb.

This car is an early built Newark vehicle (Aspen/Volare also built at Hamtramck). It has the base exterior, (yes, it has no woodgrain ,but it's not a woodgrain delete car), base interior and other than the 225-2V, ps, pdb, a/t, a/c the options on this car are the luggage rack, the front/rear bumper guards (horizontal strips were another bumper guard option) and the carpeted trim and storage compartments in the cargo area.

Aspen/Volare were not available in "models" in 1978 or through to the end of production. All cars have a second digit of "L" (Low trim class) in the serial number. This car has the base exterior (lack of woodgrain does not mean woodgrain delete. Woodgrain was standard with the SE exterior. When you ordered woodgrain delete on a car with the SE exterior you got the "Custom" exterior package which was the wide full length moulding with the vinyl inserts. Given that this car doesn't have that either, it's not a woodgrain delete car). This car has the base interior. Options on this car include the luggage rack, front/rear bumper guards, 225-2V, p/s, pdb, a/t, a/c, tinted glass all around and cargo compartment dress-up (storage doors in the quarters). The Magnum 500 wheels were added to this car as was the chrome gas cap. The car was built with the basic wheel covers (W11 on the broadcast sheet). The trailer hitch has also been added. Trailer tow was not available with the 225-2V. This car may also have a heated rear window. That portion of the broadcast sheet isn't legible enough to read.
