About a month and a half ago i sprung and got a 1979 volare coupe on the low. Was stalling all the time, brakes were toast, and was hella smelly.

Fast forward to today, this thing is a beast! Fixed the brakes & booster, cleaned up the vacuum leaks, new plugs and an oil / power steering fluid change and this sucker rips hard for a super 6. Was surprised how nimble it handles for a 38 year old car. (I'm 25 btw and my only other classic experience was with a 78 grand prix years ago)

Anyway, thought i'd dump some pics as i go along with this project. I'm not a mechanic, but i love to tinker.

Appears to be a darn solid car, good find!
It even has the scoop that SHOULD have been a factory option on these cars.

Thanks y'all! It certainly seems to be an underrated car.

However, today i noticed some leakage on the passangers side leading to the floorboard. It's been a wet month for us in Richmond, so i've mainly kept it covered, but when i went to move it to higher ground today, the carpet was a little wet.

I've posted a pic of the area. In it, the area is very wet as i had the door open to investigate, but the actual leak produces much less water.
Drip...drip...

Was going to tear the interior out anyway and por15 the floor and underside in a few weeks as there are some minor holes. However at this point they do more draining than filling lol

I briefly checked the forum for a thread on this, but has anyone else encountered this??

A high probability it is the door weatherstripping (above door glass) is shot, missing and/or door glass needs to be adjusted.

The lower door weatherstripping might also be a possibility.
