I am unable to fill the gas tank of my 77 Aspen RT due to the Filler neck grommet (rubber/poly piece in the tank opening that the filler neck goes into) being dry-rotted. Does anyone know if anyone reproduces the grommet - or where I can get one? If I fill the tank past the bottom of the grommet (trying to fill the tank), the gas seeps out from the bottom of the grommet/neck opening.

I tried a few places online, but their info only goes back to 1984. My local dealer was unable to help (I didn't think they could but gave it a shot anyway). I hate to try and pull one from the junk yard. Any help is appreciated.

Info on the car is 77 Aspen RT - 360 if it matters -- has that 1 1/2 year only tank.

The mopar part number should be 4002010. Should be able to get it at the dodge dealer or try ebay.

Will the Grommet for the 79 and later work in the 76/77 tank?

As far as I know the filler necks and tank opening are the same size. I bought the same grommet for my 77 but I haven`t installed it yet.

Just to make sure I just checked my 77 parts book. The part number is 4002010. It fits all 77 passengers cars.

Filler neck to tank grommet is the same for all years and models of F. (prob. M and J also)
Very common piece across many years and models of Mopars.
Prices I've seen seem to run from somewhere in the $12 range up to two or three times that.
