Hello everybody,
My name is Thorsten and I'm from Germany.
Last year, I bought a Plymouth Volare Station Wagon.
318er 4bbl, 904 built in 1978
He has no rust, which is amazing. But pretty much everything about rubber is "burned" and destroyed.
He was painted over in original color, not very nice but ok.
Now I'm rebuilding it.
That's why I certainly have one or two questions.
I also have a Dodge Dart, so the technique is not completely unknown to me.
But some things are a bit different, front axle for example.
And sorry for my english, google translator is better than my english School :)

Welcome to our site!

A nice wagon, by the way!

The Volare replaced the Dart in 1976 – so there are a lot of similarities (as well as some differences). Personally, I think the Volare is easier to work on, especially in the dash area.

Are you building the car to drive or to show?

Thank you
I live in the near to Dusseldorf. At "Ruhrgebiet"
No it will not be a show car.
From the bottom everything should be good and above you can see his age.
He should drive well for holidays in England, Sweden
A good 318er and long axle.

But engine, axles and all attachments are centimeters thick covered with an oil sand mixture. Not nice :)

So get it all out and then sandblast it.
Then paint and reinstall.

The dart is no longer useful for long distance :)

I do not know how they got the whole earth on it :)

Here's the Dart.
rebuilt 360 and so
Later, when the Volare is finished, a 408 Stroker comes in

I can’t tell if you have a car with A/C (Air Conditioning) or a car with Heater only (like my wagon is). Your hand is blocking what is needed to be seen, to tell.
If car came with the heater core disconnected or bypassed – you might have a bad heater core – possibly.

Does your car (or did it have) have a Lean Burn computer on the side of the air cleaner?

I took both of these pictures today, for I drove my ’77 Volare wagon to work today (but it does need a bath, though). This car has 46k miles on it.

My engine is dirty – but not like yours is.
While your engine is out of the car, you might want to reseal it (new timing cover gaskets, intake gasket, valve cover gaskets and so forth). Scrub all of the oil off, then give the engine a good layer of fresh paint.

Nice Wagon, my 78 is the same color. 318 2 barrel 4 speed a good bit rustier but solid enough to work on.

Good Morning
yes the car has original air conditioning.
It all comes out. Here it is never very long warm that I need it :)
The Lean Burn System will not come back.
Electricity, air and gas are enough :)
I have 1971 exhaust manifold here.
I still have to see what I'm buying for an exhaust system.
From the A-body as a starterkit would almost fit ???
Engine is taken apart and sealed.
A performer intake with a 390cfm carburetor.

It's supposed to be a solid 318, not a racing machine

Here in Germany there are strict rules what classic cars are allowed :-(
Not everything is allowed.
Only BMW, VW and Audi are allowed to do everything, :) joke

The problem is once you start everything then you could make everything nice. stupid hobby.
I just wanted to check everything and drive, but it always comes differently
