I bought her for $1900 with 86K on the odometer. One owner who definitely took car of this beauty! I did order a set of original Chrysler wire wheel covers to replace the plastic ones that the previous owner had on her.

Good idea; those plastic covers must go. Interesting trivia about this car: it was the only year the M-body New Yorker was not designated a "Fifth Avenue".

Nope, in 82 the New Yorker had 2 trim levels, the base NY and the 5th Ave. Here's a factory press release pic of the 82 5th Ave trim level.

Thanks to all! I just love our M bodies!!! Yes this car is the base model, not the 5th Ave Edition. This is why I love her so much, also because it's the only M that has the New Yorker badge on the sail panels.

I found her on central florida craigslist. One owner and very well taken care of. So far I have put four new shocks and a radiator in her. For the rear I found a set of Gabriel Load Adjusters which brought up the rear about 2"...

Very nice. Just in case you have to get new tires. Coker makes a 1 3/8" WhiteWall, same as the originals. I got mine through Summit.

Extremely pleased to have found a source for the 5th Ave replacement tires thanks to Yellowdart68 I have been looking for quite a while and had previously tried Coker but was informed they did not carry these tire in the correct whitewall width of 1.3"...... perhaps they have added due to demand ??? The only option I could find was to have custom made by Diamond Back Tires at a very high premium. To the best of my knowledge all 5th's came with 205/15/75 whitewall 1.3 "as standard. Coker now lists the 215/15/75 with the 1.3 whitewall which is acceptable tolerance according to the owners manual. Still going to cost me a small fortune to have shipped to Canada but at least I now have another option source...... Thanks again to this GREAT venue for info from helpful members !!!

The tires are called American classics, by Coker. I bought them from Summit because their freight rate was so low, unlike coker's. I had an issue with balancing, and was told by Summit and Coker, to have them balanced, using a Road Force balancer. There was an issue, with one tire, and they replaced it.

So Yellowdart69 it was the 215/15/75 that you bought ???
What was the difference on the car from the 205/15/75 to the 215/15/75 ??? Couple of garages here suggested that if I was going to go from the 205's to the 215's that I should go with 70's instead of the 75's if I was to have the tires custom made. Of course now with the new info that they are available in the 75 size, it would definitely be much cheaper than a custom order.... Comments/recommendations would be appreciated from fellow members.

AWESOME car there gomopar89....
Thank you...

About finding tires, I found a source in Cali that has wide whitewalls. 205/75/15 have 1" WW and the 215/75/15 have 1 1/4" WW. I ordered the larger size and they arrived yesterday. The brand name is Vitour Galaxy R1 and I bought them from Performance Plus Tire and Auto in Long Beach, CA. Yes...they are a Chinese tire, but this car is not my daily driver and they only cost $89 each. You can also order them off of their ebay store.
