no a/c floor vent question

my Fury was orderd with out a/c so it has a floor vent on the left side, why didn't they put one one the right side? I felt where the air comes in from (where the windsheild wiper stuff is) then I felt the right side theres a vent there too, so I guess what I'm asking is why is there a vent for the right side thats not hooked up?

My 77 Aspen has one. Are you sure the cable/handle isn't missing? My Aspen's was broken and just hanging there. I could see where someone would pull it off to get it out of the way.

no I can see where the handle would screw in though, I looked above and couldn't see any sign of anything ever being there, also in the owner's manual just shows one on the driver's side

I'm at work so I can't look but if I remember there is a bell crank to open the door and a clamp for the cable. What year? Maybe someone has the service manual/parts book and can look up if it was supposed to have one.
