Nice looking car. Even if it is as good in real life as is being presented, it is over priced.

In my opinion, it is over priced. I can only judge from local prices, but my 1981 CMX with 83,000 KM (=50,000 miles, give or take), almost fully loaded (has regular air conditioning vs. Temperaure controlled air conditioning, but I have the rear amplifier option, which I understand is not common) with a 318 4BBL, was $CAN1200 (around $US900), and I got a set of steel whees with Mirada hubcaps and a set if 10 spokes thrown in as part of the deal. The advertised car has better paint, and paint/bodywork (looks like something fell on the driver’s side fender and dented the top of the fender and the hood where the center section rises up near the middle of the hood) on mine would need aboou $CAN3500-4000 to fix the dent, a few very small rust spots, and a repaint. The interior on my car is in better shape, most likely. So, my car would come out to be $CAN5200, at max. That works out to be about $US4000. He was asking twice that.

Being overpriced, and selling are two different things. People on Barrett Jackson buy cars that are way overpriced all the time. Anybody have $100K for a 21 or 23 window VW Microbus? They are sold all the time on Barrett Jackson. All that 48 horsepower and 60-65 MPH top speed

Whether a car is overprice or not is a personal judgement. In my judgement, which I wrote about in a previous posting, the car was overpriced, probably by at least $2K US. I based that on my own experience chasing down cars like that locally. The buyer bought the car, so they must have thought the car was worth the asking price, or whatever price was negotiated. I don't think this was an $8K US car. It may have been negotiated down; it may not have. But at the listed price, I think it was over priced.

Is there a price guide/book that covers the Miradas, and if so, what does it say the car is worth?

The thing is if theres a buyer at that price it's not over priced.
    It was priced under 7k.
